Customer Rating:   Summary: Will work, but a little disappointing Comment: I ordered the cake keeper because I have two rectangular NordicWare cake pans, and wanted to display / keep the cakes in something special. Am a little disappointed in the keeper--it seems to be made of a rather brittle plastic. The locking mechanism seems cheap. Time will tell.... With arthritis in my hands, I am able to lift the cake, while in the container, because it is so light and I love the way it keeps the cake perfect. The glass cake pedestals are nice and the glass lids are so heavy. This is the first time I can actually carry the cake in its container. Also, both lock the lids in place - wonderful. PLus the 9x13 can also carry cupcakes or a cake. Great idea!! As long as you're not transporting the relish tray from one location to another, however, as the veggies get mixed up and fly all over the place. But the see-through lid allows display of cakes. Choosing Appliance -> Spatulas Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
