Customer Reviews of CDN DTP392 Digital Probe Thermometer
Customer Rating: Summary: CDN Digital Probe Thermometer Comment: I needed an accurate meat thermometer and I found it in the CDN DTP392 Digital Probe Thermometer. It gives me instant and accurate readings. I have recommended it to my family and friends. Customer Rating: Summary: Still ticking after three years Comment: I've had this thermometer for almost three years with no problems. My concern about battery life (there is no way to turn the unit off) has proven unfounded as the first battery I put in lasted over two years. Works well for the grill, in the oven, and in frying oil. Note that if the unit goes out of calibration (mine has not), there is a function to recalibrate the temperature. Customer Rating: Summary: Very good Comment: This is a wonderful product. I use it even more than I anticipated. Don't know how I got along without it. Customer Rating: Summary: Bad Product! Comment: This thermometer lasted about a month before going in to permanent "Hi" mode. What a ripoff! Customer Rating: Summary: CDN DTP392 Digital Probe Thermometer Comment: An excellent item. Works very nicely. We cook a turkey on a Webber bar-b-que and other meat thermometers smoke up and make monitoring very difficult. With this unit the thermometer stays outside and away from the smoke. Also, the set and actual temperatures are displayed, most helpful. The alarm feature is an added plus. After my first purchase, I bought several more for family members. Highly recommend. More Reviews The CDN DTP392 Probe Thermometer is perfect for roasting or grilling, candy making, and deep frying. Simply insert the probe into your food, place your food in the oven or barbecue and close the oven door (or grill cover) directly over the sensor cable. Set the temperature alert for USDA safe cooking temperatures. Features audio / visual alert, dual progress display with big digits, sliding mode switch, temperature guide, and adjustable stainless steel clip. Battery (1.5V AAA Alkaline) and instructions included. 5 year limited warranty. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough.
