Customer Rating:  Summary: Wizard of Ahhhhhs! Comment: This set reminds me of something from the Wizard of Oz. So fun to look at and a great size, as well as being easy to hold. I love this pattern! As a matter of fact, the holes in my set are almost TOO big. Maybe they had a production run with tiny holes, but they must have fixed it. I have had no problem with the salt shaker as previous reviewers have. Maybe they have fixed the problem. I was concerned about buying them but thought my husband, Mr. Fix-it, could take care of the hole being too small. Customer Rating:  Summary: So cute...yet so useless Comment: I received most of the Pistoulet set for my wedding, and I'm afraid I must agree with the first reviewer; while the salt & pepper shaker set is very cute, the salt just won't come out of the shaker. Personally, I'm not the sort to go out and buy extra-fine sea salt each time I need salt, just so that my salt shaker will work properly. At first, I thought the salt was damp, but no, the holes must not be large enough. I have pottery tools, so I may try to core the holes out. If that works, I'll come back and edit the review to let folks know. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm.
