Comment: Difficult to find in retail stores these tongs are ideal for serving spaghetti, salads and similar foods. Attractive enough to use for use at the table. Reasonably priced.

Comment: Just what I wanted. Very helpful for serving any pasta, noodles or salad. Also quite good for any dish where you need to pick up larger individual items. I gave it 4 stars, because the metal is a tad hard, needs a little more strength to squeeze together; for women that is.

When shopping for a new washer, look for a front loading (horizontal-axis) machine. This machine may cost more to buy but uses about a third of the energy and less water than a top-loading machine. With a front loader, you'll also save more on clothes drying, because they remove more water from your clothes during the spin cycle. Look for the Energy Star label.

Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes.

You can also maximize the efficiency of appliances you already own through regular maintenance and tune-ups and system upgrades. Examples of some things that you can do are:

Check air filters in heating and cooling systems monthly during the seasons they are in use and clean and replace them as necessary.
Clean air vents, baseboards, and radiators regularly and keep them unrestricted by furniture, carpets, or drapes.
