Customer Reviews of Zyliss Jumbo Garlic Press with Cleaner
Customer Rating: Summary: the best garlic press ever Comment: I was not a garlic press enthusiast until using the Zyliss press at a relative's home. They never seemed to work well; half of the garlic would come out of the back/sides of the press. So you would have to pull it out and chop it anyway. The "Zyliss Jumbo Garlic press" is made with precision and ALL of the one or more garlic toes will be pressed through the holes. I love using garlic and this makes it super easy. You really don't have to peel the toe if you don't want. Clean up is easy, especially with the plastic peg insert. The Zyliss press does everything it claims. The only thing to realize is that it does take a certain amount of hand strength to squeeze it closed, more so if you try to do 2 or 3 toes at a time. That may be hard for some. But if you are looking for a excellent garlic press that doesn't cost a fortune...this is the one to buy. And there are not many places to find it, Amazon had the best price. Customer Rating: Summary: Not sure? Comment: This is the first garlic press I've ever used. Usually just whack them with a chef's knife then mince. It seems hard to get the garlic out, having to dig it out. Also kinda hard to press with more than one garlic clove. Maybe I just have to get used to it? I've since gone back to whacking the garlic with the chef's knife. Customer Rating: Summary: Zyliss Garlic press Comment: I really like it,does a good job and easy cleanup.I find myself using garlic more which I guess is a good thing. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product Comment: This is a really easy to clean garlic press. It holds about four medium sized cloves and presses them thoroughly. I love this product! Customer Rating: Summary: Only a Zyliss for me Comment: I've really liked my Zyliss garlic presses. I gave my last one to my mother-in-law, and (despite my mom's recommendation to get another Zyliss - as my Sicilian grandmother had always used Zyliss) opted for a Kuhn Rikon I found at TJ Maxx. I was so disappointed. The mechanical advantage was terrible; it took great effort to press even one chopped-up garlic clove. Anyway, I went ahead and spent more money on another Zyliss. The time and effort saved have been well worth the cost. More Reviews No peeling necessary! Simply plop several garlic cloves into this jumbo press, squeeze, and pressed garlic is extruded, while the peels stay behind. The plunger ensures maximum pressing in next to no time. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. You will also want to buy a sharpening steel. Zyliss Jumbo Garlic Press with Cleaner Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks. |
