Customer Reviews of Recipe Box 4 x 6
Customer Rating: Summary: Just what I was looking for Comment: This box is large and nicely made. Outside measurements are 7 3/8"W x 5 7/16"H x 6 7/8"D. Inside, the compartment is 4 13/16" deep, so it holds more recipes than most boxes. Lip on lid is awkward. Directions say "lid swings open to the front to serve as a convenient recipe card holder." This requires either turning box around after opening or opening and filing recipes in the box backward to the usual way. I do not plan to use this feature. Old dog! Otherwise perfect! Customer Rating: Summary: Nice but a little bulky Comment: The box is nice but it's a little larger than I expected. I suppose I didn't pay close enough attention to the dimensions. It'll take quite a while before I can even come close to filling it with enough recipes cards that they all stand up and not fall over in the box. The box does look nice though, it's good quality, and if you have a ton of recipes... I'd recommend it. More Reviews This beautiful recipe box is quality crafted in the USA from select birch northern hardwood and has a high solids lacquer finish. With a spacious 6-1/4"w x 4-3/4"d x 4-3/8"h interior, there is plenty of room for all of your favorite recipe cards. The front and back of the recipe box look the same, so it can be conveiniently used to flip the lid forward and the card in use can be placed on the inside of the lid at an easy to read angle and kept out of spills on the countertop. Also available in white. Choosing Appliance -> Spoons Buy stainless spoons (both slotted and non-slotted) which are solid and won't bend no matter how tough the job. Also, buy several high quality wooden spoons for stirring delicate dishes like risotto (the sharp edge of a metal spoon would cut or bruise the rice). Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Recipe Box 4 x 6 Useful info -> Energy-Efficient Appliances When you do have to shop for a new appliance, look for the Energy Star label. Energy Star appliances have been identified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and DOE as being the most energy-efficient products in their classes. They usually exceed minimum federal standards by a substantial amount. |
