Customer Rating: Summary: Not a good stone Comment: I have two pizza stones. One is this set by Bialetti and the other is from the Pampered Chef. Foods cooked on the Bialetti taste like the stone which makes the food taste and smell like feet. I have used it several times in hopes that this taste would end after the first few uses but it has not. I have even buttered it up and heated it in the oven to "cure" the stone but this did not help. I also found that the pizza would stick to the stone, leaving you with a mess and little crust. In all if you are looking for a cooking stone choose Pampered Chef or similar but not this item. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers By law manufacturers must disclose the energy efficiency of their appliances, rated A to G. These are usually displayed prominently in showrooms. However your old fridge may contain them, so please dispose of it thoughtfully. Your local authority should be able to give you some advice and guidelines. |
