Summary: Expanding shelf.
Comment: My wife has been very happy with the two expanding shelves that we have installed in our cabinets for her many spices, etc. They proved very versatile and easy to install.

Summary: Great spice rack
Comment: We needed a no frills, expandable spice rack that has no spices included (we've got plenty of our own spices to store already). This rack fits the bill. The plastic is solid, it expands to fit our cabinet space, and holds a large assortment of bottles and jars.

My only issue is that the steps are too short. I would have liked to have each step about an inch higher, so we could read the labels on all our spices. As it stands now, I can only readily see the labels on the first step.

Still, great product, we recommend it to everyone.

Summary: the good and the bad........
Comment: I have limited space for spices. I bought this so that I could easily see what I had and get to it. It does make it EASIER but you won't be able to read the label. I have to tell by color of the top, and mental notes of where each spice should be (alphabetical by herb or sweet, etc on different rows) What annoys me is trying to get the spice jar out and knocking the bottles below out of the cabinet. Still better than nothing but if you have room, get a revolving rack or one that goes in the drawer.

Summary: Expand A Shelf
Comment: Use this item to store my father's medications on the kitchen table. Thought it was going to be way to big at first. Then, I started putting all the bottles on the unit and found the room really came in handy.

It's a great product for storing items you use regularly. I don't store spices on it, because I don't use them that often and don't really need that much convenience. They would be ideal if I used several spices throughout the week. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

Summary: Improves visibility in your cabinets, from a Professional Organizer
Comment: I use the Expand-A-Shelf product in many of my clients' kitchens. This product is not about creating space, but rather about improved visibility in the same amount of space.

The staggered height of the stadium steps allow you to see your food pantry items in a kitchen cabinet, even the ones located in the back of the cabinet. The product improves visibility in deeper cabinets when you have many small to medium size pantry items of the same height. It is ideal for canned goods & small bottles (e.g., spice bottles, soup cans, etc.). Just love this product!

Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers
Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings.
Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers
By law manufacturers must disclose the energy efficiency of their appliances, rated A to G. These are usually displayed prominently in showrooms. The better the rating, the more energy efficient the appliance is - good for both the environment and your pocket.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Maximize the efficiency of appliances
You can also maximize the efficiency of appliances you already own through regular maintenance and tune-ups and system upgrades. Examples of some things that you can do are:
  • Check air filters in heating and cooling systems monthly during the seasons they are in use and clean and replace them as necessary.
  • Clean air vents, baseboards, and radiators regularly and keep them unrestricted by furniture, carpets, or drapes.
  • Release trapped air from hot water radiators once or twice a season by opening the valve until nothing but water comes out.
  • Follow prescribed maintenance (e.g., maintaining certain water levels in steam heat systems).
  • Install an insulating jacket on your hot water heater, insulate hot water pipes, and lower the water heater temperature.
  • Clean refrigerator coils yearly and maintain internal temperatures between 36 degrees F (2.2 degrees C) and 38 degrees F (33 degrees C) for the refrigerator compartment and between 0 degrees F (17.8 degrees C) and 5 degrees F (15.0 degrees C) for the freezer compartment.
  • Move the refrigerator if it is currently located near the stove or dishwasher.
  • Regularly defrost refrigerators that do not have a completely automatic defrost capability to eliminate ice build-up on interior coils.
  • Clean dryer filters after each use or as necessary.
