Customer Reviews of Pedrini Wine & Bar Heavy Duty 3-Stage Nutcracker, Chrome
Customer Rating: Summary: Broke within a year Comment: I bought this nutcracker less than a year ago and have used it very little. It broke in half a few weeks ago and is now completely useless and will have to be tossed. Look for something sturdier even if you only occasionally plan to crack nuts! Customer Rating: Summary: Basic but effecient. Comment: This is a sturdy and attractive nutcracker. Requires some strength, as expected, but overall worth the reasonable cost. More Reviews The labor involved in producing nuts fresh from the shell can be streamlined with the use of Pedrini’s three-stage nutcracker. As the name indicates, this tool boasts three oval shapes in varying sizes enabling the user to cradle and crack a range of nuts. The smallest of these openings measures half an inch in diameter, followed by a 3/4-inch opening, and finishing with the largest measuring 1-inch in diameter. The nutcracker features sturdy steel construction, a polished chrome finish, and rounded handles for a comfortable hold. Measuring 7 by 1/2 by 1-1/2 inches, this Italian-made product is dishwasher-safe and comes with a lifetime warranty. -- Amy Arnold Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Choosing Appliance -> Salad spinner While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens. Pedrini Wine & Bar Heavy Duty 3-Stage Nutcracker, Chrome Kitchen tips -> Chopping and Mincing When you want to finely chop foods such as: onions, garlic, parsley, or other items, pivot your knife by keeping the tip of the knife on the cutting surface at all times and hold the knife at an angle, about 95' angle, towards the hand holding the tip. This way, you use the blade to push and keep the food particles down, thus making them easier to chop. If the knife should slip, then the sharp side of the blade will slide away from where you're working, and away from your other hand and fingers. In addition, you make less noise, as compared to when raising and lowering the knife of the cutting surface trying to mince foods. |
