Customer Reviews of Pedrini Wine & Bar 3-Stage Nutcracker, Chrome
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good but Not Great Comment: Chrome finish is nice, rubber pads on the handles are a nice touch. I was hoping the hinges of the nutcracker to be tighter. The handles of the nutcracker could also be longer to provide more mechanical advantage. I don't regret the purchase. I recommend this product unless you can find something with slightly longer handles. Customer Rating: Summary: Quality product at a great price! Comment: These are very well built and seem like they will hold up very well for years to come. They handle small nuts like hazelnuts and odd shaped nuts like brazils. Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful nutcracker! Comment: We very seldom crack nuts as we purchase bags of shelled nuts to use in recipes. We do, however, need to break up dog biscuits every day and this is the perfect tool. It has three different cracking areas to crack different size nuts (or pieces of dog biscuits) or even crabs or lobster. This nutcracker cleans easily, is a great weight, well balanced and comfortable in your hand, constructed well, and is quite stylish. I am considering buying several additional nutcrackers for human use with crab legs, and I will certainly purchase them from Amazon.com - our favorite way to shop! More Reviews With three oval openings of varying sizes, this Pedrini nutcracker cradles and cracks nuts in a range of sizes. The smallest of the trio has a 1/4-inch diameter, followed by two more openings measuring 1/2- and 1-inch across respectively. Thanks to a ridge of narrow grooves, nuts are held firmly in place and won’t slip or crack unevenly. Durable steel construction finished with a polished shine gives this tool a sleek, contemporary look. Additionally, the handle features synthetic inserts for a comfortable, slip-free hold. Measuring 6-1/2 by 1/2 by 1-1/2 inches, this Italian-made product is dishwasher-safe and comes with a lifetime warranty. -- Amy Arnold Choosing Appliance -> Salad spinner While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Pedrini Wine & Bar 3-Stage Nutcracker, Chrome Kitchen tips -> Rice cooking Add a few drops of lemon juice and a teaspoon of oil to rice when cooking. This will allow the rice to separate and not stick together after it is cooked. You can also try just adding a tablespoon of vinegar to the water to prevent rice from sticking |
