Filled with coffees and teas they made lovely incidental gifts for friends for Thanksgiving when no one expects a gift! Nice enough for a gift yet practical enough to use everyday for the month of November then pack away for a year. More Reviews Churchill, a British producer of tableware for more than 200 years, has thoughtfully created a pattern specifically for the celebration of the most food-focused of American family holidays--Thanksgiving--with a design transfer-printed from an early American copperplate engraving. The Thanksgiving Turkey 12-ounce mugs are meant to be integrated into other matching place setting arrangements in the same pattern. These handled mugs are perfect for coffee or cocoa; on a chilly autumn day, even a mug of soup can be a hand-warming treat. The turkey featured in the Churchill Thanksgiving Turkey design is highly detailed, as if from an antique natural history engraving; the bird stands in full-tailed display amid a cluster of ferns. The subtly fluted mugs sport borders which consist of equally detailed drawings of forest flora: blackberries, acorns, oak leaves, and simple wild rose blossoms. The color palette includes soft blues, reds, golds, and greens in the muted tones of a hand-tinted photograph. The Churchill Thanksgiving Turkey pattern offers a wide range of matching pieces such as basic 5-piece place settings, napkin rings, a cookie jar, a teapot, and a creamer and covered sugar bowl, as well as other individual setting pieces. Churchill earthenware is safe for use in the microwave and freezer; however, avoid rapid temperature changes by allowing dishes to make gradual transitions. Choosing Appliance -> Spatulas Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Silicon is an amazing substance which is heat resistant up to 550 degrees. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
