Customer Rating:   Summary: doesn't seem to work Comment: I gave this as a birthday present. It came on time. The oven thermometer part works just fine, but the 'Meat Thermometer' portion doesn't work. I should have paid more attention to the complaints (and not believe America's Test Kitchen). And I'm also out of the 'return' window. Customer Rating: Summary: Defective Product Comment: I purchased this thermometer in late September but first used it on Thanksgiving; the bottom half, which is supposed to read the oven temp, doesn't work. Just as Mr. Marcus, an earlier reviewer indicated. I am currently attempting to reach Amazon to discuss how to proceed, as I am out of the return window for this item. Customer Rating: Summary: Works for me! Comment: With an oven temp I can never be certain of, this little beauty allows me to stay on top of the heat in the hot box. I don't understand the problems some other reviewers had. Haven't used it in the Weber as yet, but I surely plan to. Amazon refunded the purchase price of the item, as I didn't want anymore replacements on this item. I should add that I used both items only 2-3 times. Amazon was very helpful in this matter. P.S. Obviously I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. (Polder 12453 dual?? oven thermometer) More Reviews This stainless dual thermometer reads both the oven temperature and meat temperature at the same time. Cooks Illustrated magazine rated it highly for the grill also. Bargain price for such a convenient, sturdy thermometer. 
Choosing Appliance -> Plastic wrap An absolute must with a million and a half uses. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. It sticks much better than the common grocery store plastic wrap and is much cheaper per foot. Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher? If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result.
