My daughter got it for me for X-mas. Great grind but the bottom won't stay on, very poor fit. Don't buy this unless you look it over very carefully first. I repaired the old mill, but this one matched the kitchen colors and no other brand consistently ground all types of pepper and was as convenient to use. Great product. Customer Rating: Summary: Almost Perfect Comment: What's right with this: -compact size doesn't take up too much room and isn't too tall for a cupboard -nifty compartment at the bottom to catch the freshly ground pepper (great for measuring) What's wrong with this: -the plastic gears have worn out so very little pepper gets ground (let's not think about if I am grinding the gears themselves into my salad now?) -the knob will chip your thumbnail if you don't keep your thumb out of the way when you twist it. Comment: I purchased my first peppermate mill, in 1983. It as a very expensive $25.00 back then, but I treated myself as part of an extensive kitchen renovation. Well, this little mill has been a powerhouse in my kitchen BUT, I have to finally replace it!! It has fallen on the floor too many times to save it, and in doing so I will break down and buy the black one. I have a beige one, which they no longer make. Goodbye old beige peppermate..hello new Black one. I hope this one lasts 24 years also!! Choosing Appliance -> Grater In our opinion, the old fashioned box graters work the best since they are sturdy and offer several different grating sizes. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Peppermate Pepper Mill Black
Kitchen tips -> Cooking sweet corn Do not add salt to the water when cooking sweet corn because the salt will toughen the corn. Add a little sugar to the water to boost the flavor. |
