Customer Reviews of Vic Firth MAR12PM46 12-Inch Mario Batali Pepper Mill, Mahogany
Customer Rating: Summary: bellisimo! Comment: After reading about how Vic Firth also makes drumsticks, I decided to give it a go. It has a very smooth, beautiful finish and really is a good looking piece-o-pepper mill. The setting does shift a bit but I noticed it has a lifetime guarantee so I guess if it bothers someone enough they can return it. Surprisingly though, it does not fit many peppercorns in for the size. I can't stop marveling at how great it looks! Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Grinder! Comment: I love to cook dinners for two up to large get togethers. That being said I have all the great kitchen tools to help me do the job. I have used several grinders over the past 10 years. And up to this point have never really been impressed. Vic Firth makes and excellent product. Solid construction you can feel, and a mechanism that provides a consistent grind every time. Great looking finish as well looks right at home on your countertop. More Reviews Through his restaurants, cookbooks, products and television shows, Mario Batali breathes the spirit of the Old World into modern day America and shows us how to revel in the inherent joys of daily life.Top chef Mario Batali has combined with Vic Firth Gourmet in the creation of this stylish pepper mill that not only looks great, but also provides precision grinding with the patented "Lock and Grind" grinding system. With a simple twist, the mechanism performs a two-step process that ensures perfect consistency every time. Handcrafted from rock maple wood with a handsome mahogany stain, this quality peppermill packs a lifetime guarantee. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Keen cooks may want to take advantage of multi-function ovens - usually aimed at the top end of the market. As well as traditional cooking, fan or fan-assisted cooking and grilling, these ovens offer up to nine further functions. These include: Top element only (browning), bottom element (final cooking of pastry dishes or pizzas), fan and bottom element (delicate cooking), fan only (thawing). Vic Firth MAR12PM46 12-Inch Mario Batali Pepper Mill, Mahogany Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
