The one ounce size is small, but I really like it because with an ice cream maker at home, I usually have several different kinds of ice cream and sorbet in my freezer. Should be the stuff of happiness but my wife was tired of bending spoons in a half-gallon carton of vanilla ice cream, so she told me to go online and find a better solution. I bought the 1.5 oz size. This scoop, along with a small cup of warm water, makes quick work of the hardest ice cream you'll encounter. It is light, yet durable. It is easy to clean. She's happy. But I got some hard ice cream the other day from a store and it took a lot more of effort than the product description made it out to be. I am no expert on ice cream scoops but this can't be th best. However it does feel nice in the hand and softer ice cream scoops fine and the scoops seem to be a nice size. All in all I still was able to eat my fav. choc. peanut butter cup!!
