Customer Reviews of MIU 4-Piece Silicone Spatulas Set, Pastel Colors
Customer Rating: Summary: Just ok Comment: these spatulas work fine but you have to be careful what you use them on. The large purple one got all stained when I used it to clean out the bowl containing my sauce for lasagna. I have others that don't do this. Customer Rating: Summary: Scrapers rated high ! Comment: 3 sizes: 1 large 2 medium 1 small (Very useful size) They all do the job & do it well. Color coding is good if using several in food preparation (IF you can remember what color you used for what!) Customer Rating: Summary: Great Kitchen Tools! Comment: Love these and use them literally every day! It doesn't bother me at all the head and handle are separate pieces because I haven't had them come apart during use at all and I have used these often. I do not put mine in the dishwasher though and perhaps that is where the problem is - maybe the heat from repeated dishwasher use causes them to contract and loosen. Personally I prefer to hand wash mine, which is not a problem since whenever I'm using them, I usually have something else I'm handwashing at the same time anyway. I love the colors - makes them extremely easy to locate quick in the utensil drawer. I especially love how soft and flexible they are, and they DO get every single drop of whatever it is you are scraping out. Heck they practically lick it clean!! Nothing is wasted and that's a good thing. I just love this set and truthfully, I wish I would have ordered 2 sets!! Great product - highly recommend. Customer Rating: Summary: Not very sturdy Comment: I wanted spatulas with a silicone handle so I could put them in the dishwasher. The ones with wooden handles have to be handwashed, and that can be a pain. These are heat resistant and dishwasher safe, but not at all sturdy. The heads of the spatulas are too soft and bend a little too much, and they also slide off of the handles. If you're mixing a heavy cookie dough, these won't get the job done. They are fine for stirring some veggies in a non-stick skillet or for scraping cake batter out of a mixing bowl, but that's about it. Customer Rating: Summary: DON'T LICK THE FROSTING OFF THESE SPATULAS Comment: Leaves a chemical after-taste if you like to lick the frosting off the spatula. Having said that, these spatulas do work very well, don't stain and don't cost too much. More Reviews These pastel colored spatulas are made with silicone heads and polypropylene handles. Heat resistent up to 650 degrees F., they are stain-proof and dishwasher safe. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. MIU 4-Piece Silicone Spatulas Set, Pastel Colors Useful info -> Food Waste Disposers Food waste disposers remove waste quickly without the use of knives or blades. The food waste is ground down into fine particles and is then flushed away through the normal waste pipe system. This process can also aid recycling as the waste is transformed into a soil conditioner once at the treatment plant. |
