Customer Rating:   Summary: Not perfect, but decent design. Comment: At the bakery where I used to work, the bakers had a whole bouquet of these things hanging from a peg. They're great. The start/stop button ought to be bigger than the clear button, and when you stick it to the fridge, the timer pivots downwards because the weight isn't balanced. Still, it's less irritating than any other timer I've used by at least an order of magnitude. Customer Rating: Summary: louise Comment: More than a kitchen timer. So many uses! I sit it next to me when I want a 30 minute nap. Wear it to remember something in the oven, time to change sprinkler, time to start getting ready to dress for work. Let child wear it to remind to check in at home when playing outside. Very easy to use and accurate. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellant little timer Comment: I needed a small countdown timer to keep with me to remind me when to take medications through the day. I searched and found dozens of these, but either they were too large, didn't have the features I wanted or other things I did not like. It seemed the only negative reviews for this item was that the alarm was too loud, but I wanted one that I would hear over the ambient noise. Also, when i had to take a med at night, this was better than an alarm clock, as could put it right next to me on the bed, and it was loud enough to wake me from a sound sleep. The clock and stopwatch are bonuses, and are also handy to have. It has worked very well. I might have been confused at how to set the clock or enter the time for countdown, but several people here were kind enough to explain how to enter the zeros when needed, so it worked like a charm. Customer Rating: Summary: T.J. Comment: This item is incredibly useful. It is a clock, an alarm timer and a count-up timer. I am a hot glass worker and I dare not be even a minute late in turning off a kiln if I do not want a piece of glass art to turn into a puddle. That is what first got me to buy and use this device. But, I find the item works well as an alarm clock - its size lends itself to use as a travel alarm/clock. It is very handy for cooking, setting yard sprinklers, etc. - any activity that requires that you stay on notice. You can set the stove, sprinkler, etc. and then go about your other business in other places with an uncluttered, unworried mind because the timer is small (1"x3/8"x4"), light and has a neck lanyard. The small battery runs for years, literally and drives the solid-state mechanism and an easily-readible digital readout. Comes in black and ivory. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent timer Comment: The timer works great, is pretty easy on batteries and reliable. I've had mine for years now and have replaced the battery once. I use it all the time. It would be 5 stars if it were a little bigger and the number buttons were arranged in a keypad type arrangement rather than the goofy 1-5 in the top row and 6-10 in the bottom row (meaning I have to look at the buttons all the time and making it easy to hit the wrong number). But at least it has number buttons at all, which most timers do not. More Reviews This multi-functional clock/timer/stopwatch is great for all your timing needs. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough. Kitchen tips -> Pineapple Do not use fresh pineapple in a salad that contains gelatin. The fresh pineapple contains an enzyme that will prevent the gelatin from setting. Use canned pineapple instead. |
