These low-profile rounded mason jars have decorative fruit-motif textured surfaces. The jars are ideal for jam, jelly, relish, chutney, and sauces. 236 millilitre/8 ounce capacity; standard 70 mm mouth. Pack of 4 mason jars and 4 2-piece lids (SNAP lids and screw bands) with poinsettia design. Screw bands can be reused, but SNAP lids are designed for one-time use only. For best results, fill hot jar with prepared recipes, leaving recommended headspace. Wipe jar rim and threads with a clean, damp cloth removing any stickiness. Center hot SNAP lid on jar. Apply screw band just until fingertip tight; do not overtighten. After processing, remove jars from canner and set upright on a towel in a draft-free place. Do not retighten screw bands or check for seal while jars are hot. Cool processed jars upright, undisturbed for 24 hours. After 24 hours, check seals. Sealed lids curve downward and do not move when pressed. (Any unsealed jars should be reprocessed or refrigerated.) For all sealed jars, remove screw bands; wipe and dry bands and jars. Store screw bands separately or replace loosely on jars, as desired. Design shown at left in photo; holly and pine bough designs are no longer available. 
Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
