Customer Reviews of Tovolo Blue Silicone Spatula
Customer Rating: Summary: love the extra long handle! Comment: I bought a red one and a blue one after reading the Cook's Illustrated recommendation. Using a metal handle was a bit strange at first after all the years of regular plastic spatulas that are lighter and more flexible. However, after the first time I used this long-handled spatula to dig down into my KitchenAid 5-qt. mixing bowl to scrape the dimple, I was sold--I never wondered if the handle was going to break. Out of the package, I wasn't sure about the stiffer scraper head, but again, after the first use, I was sold. This is the perfect tool for the KitchenAid mixer. My only quibble is that there is no hole in the handle for hanging on a rack. I will be buying some as gifts for my two sisters who own KitchenAid mixers. Customer Rating: Summary: Spatula Comment: I like the feel and weight of this item, it is dishwasher safe, and I like the different edges on each side. However, I feel it's a tiny bit stiff and makes cleaning the bowl of batter a bit more challenging. Customer Rating: Summary: Nice spatula! Comment: What can one really say about a spatula? It may be a mild commentary on my life (as I get older) that really nice kitchenware excites me enough that I'm willing to spend my time rating it. This is simply a very nice spatula. I bought both the blue and red ones. The metal handle is unique and the rich color differs enough from the standard white plastic spatulas of the 70s and 80s that they look good in my expensive stainless steel kitchen utensil holder. I've only had them for a couple of weeks now, but they feel relatively well built. We'll see how they hold up over time. A bit expensive, but you'll look good making that omelette with this item. Recommended. Customer Rating: Summary: Does what it's supposed to Comment: This spatula is comfortable to use, inexpensive, and performs all tasks as a good spatula should. Customer Rating: Summary: useful and reliable Comment: This spatula has proven to be a terrific performer in many instances: sauce making, sauteing, stir frying, folding souffles and creating perfect omelets. More Reviews Tovolos Silicone Spatula has a rigid core to make it strong and has flexible edges so it can scrape even heavy ingredients completely from the side of the bowl or pan. Its head is curved on one side and flat on the other to better fit bowls, pans, and reach into difficult corners. The completely smooth surface allows for even spreading. Tovolo tools and accessories combine innovative design with intelligent application for tools that are easy to use and a pleasure to own. Heat resistant to 600 F. Dishwasher safe. Dimensions: 12.5" Choosing Appliance -> Servicing Your Appliance Buying this "service deal" can be expensive but if you feel happier knowing that you are protected from breakdown for a few years, shop around insurance brokers to see how prices compare. Choosing Appliance -> Salad spinner While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens. Tovolo Blue Silicone Spatula Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks. |
