Customer Rating:  Summary: EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED LOVE THIS GAGET! Comment: SHIPPING WAS VERY FAST! I PURCHASED THIS TO MEASURE THE GRAM WEIGHT OF MY GOLD JEWELRY. IT IS VERY ACCURATE, RIGHT UP THERE WITH MY JEWELERS SCALE COSTING HUNDREDS MORE. I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. DO MAKE CERTAIN THAT WHEN YOU RECEIVE THIS ITEM THAT YOU OPEN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT AND UNWRAP EACH BATTERY AS THEY ARE BOTH SEALED IN PLASTIC. OTHERWISE YOU MAY PANIC WHEN IT DOES NOT POWER ON...LOL. CAN WE SAY HOW RELEIVED I WAS TO DISCOVER AND GET RID OF THAT PLASTIC! THIS SCALE IS VERY LIGHT AND CAN BE CARRIED ANYWHERE, ABOUT THE SIZE OF A CHECKBOOK IT IS PERFECT TO TAKE WITH YOU TO EVENTS, TRADE SHOWS OR EVEN TO A STORE TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOU ARE GETTING WHAT THEY TELL YOU. IF YOU DEAL IN SCRAP, IT IS A MUST HAVE! Customer Rating:  Summary: same object, different weight every time Comment: A quarter produced readings anywhere from 4.4 to 6.4 grams. The same small jar gave readings from 109.8 grams to 113.3 grams. Presumably I got a lemon. I only paid the $7 price plus shipping. Can't report on return or exchange experience as I haven't bothered to try yet. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent scales Comment: I bought this unit to weigh gold and silver coins and bullion. It's a very sturdy yet compact unit. It fits in a pocket or purse or any bag. It seems to be very well made and the scales are accurate. When I first got the unit and turned it on, it didn't work. I discovered the batteries were loose. Actually, the batteries should be outside the unit when shipped. In any case, while I've not owned them long, I'm very pleased with them. The price is exceptional and EZ Sales are just super to deal with. I was a bit annoyed that the unit did not come with a calibration weight. Be sure and get the 500 gram weight for this model. You won't need it the first time you use the unit, but at some point, you will. Highly recommended. Update: After using the scales for checking coin weight for awhile now, I've noticed that it's not totally accurate. Even after calibration. A silver dollar should weigh 31.1 grams. I have them weigh from 31.1 to 31.5. But the troy ounce is always 1oz, as it should be. There is a margin of error. So if you need extreme accuracy, you'll have to spend a lot more money. But if you want to be just quite close, this will do fine. Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening!
