This is a knife I can't do without when I'm in the kitchen. It's extraordinarily ergonomic for peeling and paring. Make sure you buy the right one. The handle and the blade of this one is slimmer than the one also sold for a 3 inch paring/boning knife which doesn't have the same ergonomic feel and the function.

Summary: Good Knife for the money
Comment: Not the best that you can buy by any means but a good basic economical knife for the kitchen

Summary: Best paring knife around!
Comment: I have used this paring knife for years and then discovered that I had accidentally thrown it in the trash with the peelings. I then searched the local stores for a similar paring knife but to no avail. This knife is a perfect size for me and one that I can easily handle. It stays sharp and is perfect for peeling potatoes, carrots, apples, etc. I finally found it on Amazon at a great price and bought 3 of them!

Summary: Very Nice But Not The Original
Comment: A very nice Made in China knock-off of the original 102S out of production Chicago Cutlery knife. A great little gift item or addition to your own kitchen.

Not quite as sharp or as well-made as the original. Only very knowledgeable would be able to tell the difference as there is no country of origin on this knife or on the original.

Made even better by 4 for 3 special offer.

Summary: Chicago at its best!
Comment: These are absolutely the greatest little knives you can have in the working kitchen. They're well balanced, easy to sharpen, stay sharpe, and just look like they're begging to be put to work. I have a drawer full since friends seem to "want one of those" when they see it in action. Great pricing as well since they run about $10 when you can find them in a store.

  • Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers
    Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings.
    Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens
    Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.

    Kitchen tips -> Chicken pieces
    When cooking chicken pieces, start with the dark pieces and then add the white chicken. The dark takes longer to cook than the white, so starting the dark first will assist in the white and dark getting done close to the same time
