Customer Reviews of Chantal Ceramic 5-Quart Rectangular Baker, White
Customer Rating: Summary: Love this baker Comment: I recently replaced my Pyrex because of safety concerns based on my experiences with a piece exploding. I purchased several Chantal items after looking at ceramic and stoneware bakers that were much more expensive. Because of the price I decided to try a few pieces and see what happened. I am glad I did because I love all my Chantal bakeware and this baker is by far my favorite. I like to cook on Saturdays and I usually find myself baking 3 to 4 main dishes (like chicken, pork chops, caserole, etc.) that will last a few days. That way during the week I can alternate main dishes and only have to make sides/deserts. I purchased two of these and a couple of smaller pieces and they fit toether well for storage. Food cooks evenly (I always check with a meat thermometer) for example chicken in the middle of the pan gets heated just as thoroughly as food on the sides. These pans look nice enough for serving at the table and clean up like a breeze. If you soak it the residue gets so loose that cleaning it only requires minimal effort. I am very pleased with this purchase it was well worth the money. Customer Rating: Summary: Chantal baker review Comment: This baker is sturdy and of good size for those pocket oven sizes. I wish Chantal still made them enamel on metal, but oh well. More Reviews Chantal Ceramic Bakeware is beautiful with a high gloss glaze and rich vibrant colors and functional with thick walls and bottom for superior heat retention and uniform baking. This high quality bakeware can withstand high oven temperatures and the durable glaze is safe for cutting and serving with metal utensils. Table ready. Can be put in the dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer. For occasional dried-on food, sprinkle with a teaspoon of baking soda and water and scrub with a nylon or plastic scrubber. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, oven cleaners, bleach and other strong cleaners. Do not use on gas or electric stovetop. Not recommended for broiler use. To prevent chipping or breakage, do not drop, over-stack or knock against sides of sink. Before microwaving frozen meals, thaw in refrigerator for the best results. Do not run cold water into a hot dish, cracking could occur from sudden temperature change. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough. Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply.
