Customer Reviews of Copco Cambridge Stainless-Steel Teakettle
Customer Rating: Summary: After only 1 year Comment: After only one year, it's rusting from the bottom seam! I'm disappointed and only proves my point once again....you get what you pay for! Customer Rating: Summary: avoid it Comment: I bought this two months ago, and after one month I happened to look inside when I filled it and saw that the water was full of flakes; the bottom was falling apart. needless to say i tossed it in the trash, and now i'm even more annoyed to see that though I paid 35 dollars for it is now 14.99. not worth it either way. Customer Rating: Summary: Pricey but nice Comment: This is a good product although it would sell better if a bit cheaper when you figure in shipping. It's nothing out of the ordinary and a little hard to keep clean, like any other tea kettle, but I would recommend it to others. Customer Rating: Summary: Fabulous Comment: I love this tea kettle. It looks great to start with and is nice and quiet, but you can still tell the water is ready. I think it is wonderful. Customer Rating: Summary: WILL RUST & ONLY 1.4 QT! Comment: WARNING: THIS IS ONLY 1.4 QT (not 2.5 QT as both Copco & Amazon claim). THIS IS NOT 18-10 Stainless Steel as Amazon claims. (even Copco admits in the tiny-font "Kettle Care" insert that RUST will occur if ANY water remains). Additionally, the phenolic handle can get VERY HOT (even Copco admits in the tiny-font "Kettle Care" insert: "ALWAYS USE A POTHOLDER"). And, the handle support/frame is cast zinc (again, NOT Stainless Steel) and subsequently will corrode and/or oxidize to a dull/white appearance. So, if you ONLY need a classical decorative item, this may be just fine at 15 bucks. (the capacity of 1.4 QT is at Copco's own marked "MAX FILL" line, which, again, Copco states in the tiny-font "Kettle Care" insert and is printed on the kettle front) WARNING: at the erroneously claimed 2.5 QT capacity, this kettle will spray boiling-hot water upon a contiguous area ~12" from the spout tip! (Amazon really needs to 'clean-up' their numerous & growing product description errors! As the world's leading online purchasing site, that should be Goal #1; in a completely digital shop, that's our primary source of info!) (As for the vendor Copco, don't know why they can't simply tell the truth!?!) Finally, to quote Seinfeld, "What's the deal with all these teapots, anyhow?!" (seriously, we've been looking for YEARS for a quality thang-to-boil-water-in-with- a-spout-and-lid) More Reviews An updated colonial-kitchen design in gleaming 18/10 stainless steel. Wide base for rapid boiling, heat-resistant phenolic handle and lid pull. Easy-pouring, drip-less spout. 2.5-quart capacity. Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers Added features such as ice making and drinks dispensers can all add to the appeal of certain models. Ice making is an option on many American style fridge-freezers, sometimes available without opening the door, as are cold water dispensers. Zoned models offer several storage areas, all at different temperatures, designed to keep a variety of foods fresh for longer. Most manufacturers now offer adjustable shelf heights and storage units which simplify food storage. Choosing Appliance -> Baking sheete Not too much romance here, but essential for any functional kitchen. Buy the heaviest pans possible. Also, you should consider buying a non-stick silicon sheet: they make baking very easy! Copco Cambridge Stainless-Steel Teakettle Kitchen tips -> Peppers
