Customer Reviews of Swissmar Swiss Fire Gel 3-Ounce Tins of Fondue Fuel (Sleeve of 3)
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Best I have tried
Comment: When I bought my fondue set in Switzerland many years ago it came with Swissmar Fire Gel. I have tried other brands over the years and have come back to use the Swissmar brand. It has the right amount of heat and burn time for a fondue dinner.

Maybe the previous rater was using it for something else?

Customer Rating: Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5
Summary: Too little burn time. Package was all bent up and leaking.
Comment: The product arrived bent up, with fuel leaking from 2 of the tins. They were unusable and I was only able to use one of the tins. It has very little burn time.

More Reviews Don't forget to stock up on Fondue fuel. Swiss Fire Gel is perfect for all of our Fondue sets as well as our exclusive Tatar's Hat. They are easy/safe to use and burn without smoke or odor. Most grocery stores sell chafing dish burner fuel, which is made from Methanol. Chafing dishes are used to keep cooked food warm. Swiss Fire Gel is an Ethanol based burning gel. Ethanol gels burn much hotter than Methanol. We tried the grocery store fuel ourselves and found the Swiss Fire Gel to be superior.

Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens
Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.
Choosing Appliance -> Sinks
Consider which accessories might be beneficial. Many models can be supplied with a draining basket, chopping board and strainer bowls. A drainer extension can be useful for sinks without a drainer where worktop space is limited in a small kitchen.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Maintain Electrical Safely
The insulation on electrical cords can become damaged by wear, flexing, or age. Do not use any cord that is stiff or cracked. Some clues that you may have an electrical problem are:
  • Flickering lights. If the lights dim every time you turn on an appliance that circuit is overloaded or has a loose connection.
  • Sparks. If sparks appear when you insert or remove a plug, they could be a sign of loose connections.
  • Warm electrical cord. If an electrical cord is warm to the touch, the cord is underrated or defective.
  • Frequent blown fuses or broken circuits. A fuse or circuit breaker that keeps tripping is an important warning sign of problems.
  • Frequent bulb burnout. A light bulb that burns out frequently is a sign that the bulb is too high a wattage for the fixture.
