Customer Reviews of Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Square Grill Pan
Customer Rating: Summary: Broken Cast Iron Pan looses its Excellence Comment: We ordered 5 Lodge preseasoned cast iron skillets for Christmas gifts. The skillets are wonderful, but the Amazon packaging was TERRIBLE. The skillets were essentially stacked one ontop of another - the whole five with minimal separation in the center, then the whole lot thrown in a box with very little packing material and the skillets slid and bumped on into each other. The bottom skillet arrived with one of its handles broken off - keep in mind that they skillets weigh about 7 lbs EACH. Some of the other skillets had pieces of their "Pre-Seasoned" surface rubbed or knocked off. We were sent a return lable via internet and returned the broken skillet -- we have now been told that Amazon is sorry but has no more and will refund $3.39 (I think). If that was the case there was very little reason to spend the money returning the broken skillet other than to keep a computer happy. This would have been a 5 star review except for the packing!!!!!! Customer Rating: Summary: looks good Comment: Not used yet, but the recipient was excited to receive it, so that's a good sign, right? Customer Rating: Summary: Shipped Late and delivered damaged.. Comment: This product was delivered two weeks after the date indicated when purchased. Produect had a large crack in the cast iron. Upon returning I was told I could not receive full refund because I waited too long. In reality, it was due to the late shipping and I never got a full refund for a broken product never used. Customer Rating: Summary: Iron Skillet Comment: This was something been that I've been looking for for a long time I love it and my siter is buying one also. It,s a good price and great people to work with. Customer Rating: Summary: Throw your george forman in the trash! Comment: This grill pan is great, cooks things well. Awesome quality. I've used to to cook a few different things, nothing sticks. I seasoned mine when using the included instructions when it got it. So much easier to clean and better taste than george foreman. I'm in an apartment and we can only have electric outdoor grills(whats the point). So I got this to do my grilling. More Reviews The one thing that probably discourages more people from purchasing and using cast iron is maintenance. Like carbon steel woks, cast iron cooking pieces require "seasoning." To many this is a mysterious or overly time-consuming process. Even if you treasure fond memories of eggs and pancakes cooked in grandmother's ancient, blackened skillet, you might have no idea how to turn your new pan into such a treasure. Fortunately Lodge has come out with the new Logic line, which has been evenly coated on all surfaces with an electrostatic spray of vegetable oil. Next the cookware is put into an extremely high temperature industrial oven which bakes the coating into the surface. Not only will you be spared the time and effort of seasoning, but also the new piece you buy will look and perform better than if you had seasoned it at home. Just like that heirloom pan you will find that even pineapple upside down cake doesn't stick to this surface. The ribbed bottom of this pan allows grease to puddle away from what you're cooking, all the while making those desirable stripes across fish, beast, or fowl. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Choosing Appliance -> Ovens Most avid bakers prefer separate, even-heat double electric ovens. If that describes you - and you have the space - be sure one of the ovens is equipped with a broiler that provides at least 3,000 watts of cooking power. Also look for racks that pull all the way out and lock in place for safe, easy access to the oven. On the inside, a dark interior shows less baked-on grime, while a porcelain interior is easier to clean Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Square Grill Pan Useful info -> What is a Springform Pan Traditionally, a springform pan has been defined as a round pan, that with the aid of a clamp, has removable sides and bottom. Generally used for cheesecakes, these pans allow cakes or tortes to be easily extricated from the pan. |
