Customer Reviews of Toastmaster 6203 Popcorn Popper
Customer Rating: Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5
Summary: Want to lose weight? Try this one...
Comment: You will lose weight using this popcorn popper. Guaranteed! Why? Two reasons:

1) Because all the popcorn flies out of control, with your bowl barely able to grab the few that fly direct. You will be bending over to grab the ones on the floor and chasing down the others that fly up and around.

2) You won't be eating much -- most of the kernals never pop.

Summary: Catch the Corn Game!
Comment: Who likes this the best? My dog, of course...the popcorn shoots all over the place as it comes out of the machine, and my dog has a great time catching the pieces that make it to the kitchen floor! All kidding aside, if I don't hold a dishtowel around the bowl, the popcorn flies out, hits the bowl and bounces wherever, NOT good, u think? In addition, it leaves many kernels unpopped! Actually, logged on to find another popper at Amazon, came across this and noticed no one had reviewed it yet. Gee...I wonder why! Well, click your mouse and find something more reliable, don't waste your money on this one!

Summary: DON 'T waste your money on this loser!
Comment: Unfortunately I bought this popper in a local store before I saw the reviews. It is the worst thing I have ever owned. It throws popcorn all over my kitchen and it throws out red hot unpopped kernals that pop later in the bowl of popped corn and take handfuls of popped corn with it. I'm throwning mine out.

Summary: Complete Disappointment
Comment: I bought this to replace the faithful Wearever Popcorn Pumper that I took to college in 1982, that finally died last week. The new popper is a complete waste of money. It pops maybe half the kernels, blowing the rest out unpopped along with the popped ones. The butter melter is inconvenient, and the components get very hot.

I'm sure there's a better popper out there - I know 25 years ago there was! I'm going shopping again. Don't waste your time and money like I did!

Summary: Didn't Heat Up !
Comment: Bought this on sale at Kinney Drugs. Sat in box for a week before I tried it out and did not heat up ! It only got luke warm even though I ran it for over a half hour. The best thing is when I returned it to store the following week, i got the full price back (5 dollars more than I paid !) I'm going to try the Presto Orville Reddenbacher model 04821 as there seems to be good reviews on that one.

Choosing Appliance -> Ladles
Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes.
Choosing Appliance -> Spoons
Buy stainless spoons (both slotted and non-slotted) which are solid and won't bend no matter how tough the job. Also, buy several high quality wooden spoons for stirring delicate dishes like risotto (the sharp edge of a metal spoon would cut or bruise the rice).

Kitchen tips -> Carving meat
Before carving meat, allow it to stand for 10 to 15 minutes after removing from the heat source to allow the juices to be redistributed through the meat. The standing period will result in firmer, juicier meat and will make carving easier.
