Customer Reviews of Oxo Good Grips i-Series Swivel Peeler
Customer Rating: Summary: Best peeler ever!! Comment: The grip is so easy to hold and peel many potatoes. My hand never gets tired or hurts. I highly recommend this peeler for potatoes and apples. Excellent peeler!!! Customer Rating: Summary: Great peeler! Comment: This peeler has a comfortable grip, slices thinly enough that you are not wasting vegetable, and even has a notcher to remove potato eyes! Very happy with my purchase. Customer Rating: Summary: Nearly Perfect Comment: I have been wanting a vegetable peeler that would be able to handle peeling winter squash. This is the perfect peeler for that task. I was able to peel an entire butternut squash in a very few minutes yesterday. The peeler sliced through the skin as if it were butter. There was no hesitation in getting the job done. My only complaint about the Oxo Good Grips i-Series Swivel Peeler is that it is heavy. That complaint is also what makes this the perfect peeler for the task that I assigned it. I cannot imagine using this peeler to peel carrots or potatoes. It is just too heavy for that. Customer Rating: Summary: Easy on hand Comment: Just used this once again right before reviewing. Easy on the hand for peeling potatoes. It didn't work as well on apples and seems better for larger potatoes just because it is a fairly large tool for a woman's hand. Customer Rating: Summary: Works well, but heavy Comment: I bought this peeler based on the Cook's Ill. recommendation. It works very well, but it took me a while to get used to its weight. I do like the big handle, which fits my hands well. While I usually like utensils with good heft and a solid feel, it feels odd in a peeler. More Reviews A peeler's only as good as its blade, right? So OXO, with its clever design team, developed a blade that can always be sharp. Not only is the cutting edge on their extra long stainless blade precision ground, like a fine knife, for a sharper edge, it's also replaceable. And of course you get the non-slip comfy grip you expect from an OXO tool. Choosing Appliance -> Ovens Most avid bakers prefer separate, even-heat double electric ovens. If that describes you - and you have the space - be sure one of the ovens is equipped with a broiler that provides at least 3,000 watts of cooking power. Also look for racks that pull all the way out and lock in place for safe, easy access to the oven. On the inside, a dark interior shows less baked-on grime, while a porcelain interior is easier to clean Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Oxo Good Grips i-Series Swivel Peeler Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
