Customer Rating:  Summary: Best Candy Jar Ever! Comment: I purchased this jar as a present for my mother. She was absolutely thrilled. It's true to size and made of very thick glass. The lid sits securely on the top of the jar as well. If you're looking for a cookie jar, candy jar or just something to sit on your kitchen counter this is an excellent choice. Customer Rating: Summary: Great for the price Comment: Would have been better if it had a rubber gasket for the lid and it also had a rather large air bubble in the glass. For the price though and with free shipping I'm not complaining about it. Customer Rating:  Summary: chipped glass in rims Comment: Nice looking canisters but 2 out of the 3 purchased canisters (bought directly from Target) had chips in the glass, on the outside edge of rim and inside edge where cardboard packaging insert is under lid. These are not noticeable until you've removed the packaging. So much for trying to buy American made products. Customer Rating: Summary: Best canister! Comment: I bought this to store flour. It looks terrific on the counter and goes with any decor. It doesn't have a seal, but I'm actually happy about that. I'm going to buy other sizes, as well. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
