Customer Rating:   Summary: Great Kit, Shipping Method Not So Good Comment: The kit is great, for under 5 dollars you cant beat it. The only thing is, when they shipped it, it came in an envleope. So the box was crushed. Shipping was more than the kit,if it it was a gift, I would have been mad because the box was smashed up. Thats why it got 4 stars. Customer Rating: Summary: Bought this kit for the mat. Comment: I bought this little kit for the bamboo mat. I couldn't locate it in my local stores so I purchased this as a larger group of items with free shipping. The spoon that comes with it is cheap wood; as for the price you would expect that. It takes on colors and stains. The bamboo mat is of good quality with no problems. I wrap mine in saran wrap when using to make life much easier. The pamphlet is a neat additive, but a book is recommended to be used then this pamphlet to get started. Customer Rating: Summary: A good start Comment: This kit is very economical and will help you get started making your own sushi/maki's. However, if decide to make sushi more regularly, you'll want to invest in a higher quality rolling mat and tools which are available at many Asian grocery stores. Customer Rating: Summary: It'll do for the price Comment: Joyce Chen Sushi Kit Not a lot here other kits I had came with a sushi knife..and a sharp one for that. But, what do you expect for $4? It'll do. Besides, it's really harder than then make it look on TV. Customer Rating: Summary: pretty good Comment: The only thing I disliked was the 'book' that came with it. It was basically a tiny pamphlet that wasn't really helpful at all. Other than that, great product! More Reviews Seaweed, Chinese sticky rice, and any other filling you want, rolled together into a log and then cut into 1" pieces. Sounds simple doesn't it? Without a sushi making kit you'll find yourself covered with sticky rice and your rolls will fall apart when you try to cut them into slices. By all means invest in the proper tools to ensure the greatest success in your sushi endeavors. 
Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. Kitchen tips -> Pineapple Do not use fresh pineapple in a salad that contains gelatin. The fresh pineapple contains an enzyme that will prevent the gelatin from setting. Use canned pineapple instead. |
