Customer Reviews of SCI Scandicrafts Aebeleskiver Pan 7-Cup, Cast Iron
Customer Rating: Summary: Makes great Aebelskiver! Comment: This Aebelskiver pan is tops as it is cast iron, heats evenly, and is easy to clean. The pan comes pre-seasoned, and only needs a wipe down with a damp cloth to clean. As it's cast iron, be sure to set the heat higher that you'd cook with at first, just to heat it up. After the first batch is cooked, you can turn the heat down a bit and the pan will retain its heat for the next batches. For Aebelskiver recipes, check your favorite Danish cookbook. Add apple slices to make Aebelsvupper. Serve with jam and sour cream. If you are still looking for a good Aebelskiver recipe, you can always just use pancake batter as a substitute. Not quite authentic, but still quite good. Melt a little butter in each round of the pan, fill 1/3 of the way with batter. When the batter has cooked a minute or two, and is brown on the underside, flip over and cook another 2 minutes, creating light, fluffy, round Aebelskiver. Customer Rating: Summary: Great pan but takes too long Comment: This is a great aebleskiver pan but it's just not practical. It takes way to long to make enough to feed a family. Customer Rating: Summary: A great pastry pan Comment: Make your own authentic aebleskivers with this specialty pan, recipe is included. Gotta love cast iron! More Reviews The delicious Danish dessert known as Aebleskiver are easy to make, but they need a special pan for cooking. The Aebleskiver Pan is a superior version, traditionally constructed of durable cast iron. Serve these wonderful dough balls, which resemble doughnut holes, with jam or applesauce, or dusted with powdered sugar. Yum! Please note: This item is not recommended for ceramic/glass top stoves. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Keen cooks may want to take advantage of multi-function ovens - usually aimed at the top end of the market. As well as traditional cooking, fan or fan-assisted cooking and grilling, these ovens offer up to nine further functions. These include: Top element only (browning), bottom element (final cooking of pastry dishes or pizzas), fan and bottom element (delicate cooking), fan only (thawing).
