Customer Reviews of BIA Cordon Bleu Wavy Collection 3-Quart Rectangular Baker with Handles, White
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't be fooled by the stated size Comment: I was very disappointed in the size of this pan, which was given as 16.6 x 8 x 3". The pan I received was labeled with the same product number shown in the description (900585), but is very small. If you measure from handle to handle, the pan is about 14" long, but the useful area is much smaller. I measured the inside dimensions of the bottom of this pan before returning it; it is closer to a 9.5 x 5.25 x 2.75" pan. The sides of the pan do flare out, so is larger at the top (about 12 x 7"). The pan is very pretty - I will be looking for a larger pan in this style. Customer Rating: Summary: Baking dish Comment: This is truly a pretty piece. It goes from the stove to the table, and looks great all at the same time. Have had several dinner guests compliment on how pretty it is. It makes you feel like your food tastes better when it's served in something this elegant. The price is right too! Customer Rating: Summary: I love this dish! Comment: Perfect size, looks great to serve in -- I love this baking dish. More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Spoons Buy stainless spoons (both slotted and non-slotted) which are solid and won't bend no matter how tough the job. Also, buy several high quality wooden spoons for stirring delicate dishes like risotto (the sharp edge of a metal spoon would cut or bruise the rice). Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. BIA Cordon Bleu Wavy Collection 3-Quart Rectangular Baker with Handles, White Kitchen tips -> Cooking burgers When cooking burgers, create a small hole, about ? inch wide, in the center of the burger before cooking it. The hole allows the burger to cook from the inside and outside, producing a more evenly cooked burger |
