Customer Rating:   Summary: Tired of Plastic Comment: After years of using tupperware and leftover plastic bowls, I decided to purchase the pyrex. At first I was happy with the bowls and lids. Nothing gets burned into them, goes from frige to oven to freezer. I have had these for 3 months and now I am finding chips around the edges of the bowls. I have no idea how they are getting that way. They are carefully used, washed and put away neatly when not in use. Not happy at all. I think I'll be starting my plastic collection of mis-matched storage bowls again. Customer Rating: Summary: Fantastic value - excellent product! Comment: I use these Pyrex round storage containers constantly. There are probably more than a dozen in my refrigerator right now. The 2-cup and the 4-cup sizes get the biggest workout in our family of four. We use the 4-cup size to microwave nearly all of our frozen or canned vegetables. It holds plenty for a generous dinner portion for us all. Then, the 2-cup holds the leftovers! The 1-cup size is great for storing small portions of veggies or egg whites, chopped nuts, etc. for baking. A large portion of homemade soup, stew, or spaghetti sauce fits perfectly in the 7-cup size. I absolutely love the flat bottoms on these pieces. They stack up in the fridge without a problem and they NEVER tip over. I own many rectangular and round Pyrex storage containers and I truly love them. When empty, they all nest nicely in my cupboard. I put each bowl on top of its lid, then place the bowl-plus-lid inside a larger size. It's great to be able to look in my refrigerator and see at a glance what I have in there. The glass bowls never stain, so they always look great. The Pyrex bowl just keeps on going - I've had all of mine at least 12 years. The lids, however, are another story. Washing them in the dishwasher and putting them in the microwave cause them to crack too quickly. Thankfully, replacements can be purchased online at World Kitchen. I wish Amazon would offer the replacement lids as well, though. If I could choose only one type of storage container for my kitchen, these Pyrex glass containers with plastic lids would be my choice. Customer Rating: Summary: Great... Comment: Its perfect size for my needs. Not that heavy what I imagined, its made of light-weight glass. There was one broken bowl but Amazon replaced with free shipping :-) Customer Service was awesome,never holding phone line for hours ! Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointed in Amazon's Packing Comment: I had to return them because one of the bowls was SHATTERED. Amazon should do a better job of packing glass items. I will probably not purchase any glass items again from Amazon. I have since bought the pyrex bowls in town and I like them except that they get extremely hot when used in the microwave. Make sure you use hot pads. The covers fit tightly and they stack well in the refrigerator. Customer Rating: Summary: Great set, well worth the money Comment: This set is a good buy for the following reasons: 1) Lots of different sizes 2) Works well in the freezer - no freezer burn like there was with my plastic set 3) Tight seal, so you know your food is fresh The lids are a little difficult to get on at first ( I put all my lids on while sitting on the floor as I opened the package - this allows for more leverage and you are going to wash them all before you use them anyway), but it does get easier with time. I have not yet tried putting the bowls in the oven, but make sure you do not put the lid on if you try this. Make sure to match all your lids to your bowls when you get your package, my first set was missing a few lids, even though it was a brand new unopened package. Amazon's customer service was great in sending me a return label to send 1st set back and promptly sent me another set out. Hope this helps! More Reviews 
Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Choosing Appliance -> Ladles Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together.
