Customer Reviews of Rachael Ray 5-Quart Hard Anodized Orange Oval Saute Pan with Helper Handle
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: A kitchen must have
Comment: This is a great piece of cookware to have in the kitchen. It comes in handy on a variety of dishes. The only downside is the size but trust me in saying it was well worth the shifting in the cabenet to add this to the collection of pots and pans.

Summary: Sally's pan
Comment: My husband bought this pan for me as a Christmas gift. I absolutely love it. It is just the right size. Not too big for the two of us but big enough to use when we have company. I also like the high sides, you don't have to worry about food falling out. I have had a number of friends see the pan and wish they had one. Sally Hawk

Summary: Long Pan
Comment: I received this pan for Christmas and was surprised to see how much room it takes up in a cabinet. It is close to 24 inches long. If you are short on space to store pots and pans you might want to consider the length of the pan. I like the 5 quart size, its large enough to make big batches of soups and chilis without worrying about over-filling it.

Summary: Awesome!
Comment: I love love love this pan! I've been watching Rachel Ray cook with it for some time, never realizing that I could purchase it. Since receiving it, I've used it just about every day. I love the depth of this pan, it cleans up like a dream and cooks evenly, even with its odd shape. Highly recommended!

Summary: Perfect Pan For Everything
Comment: I purchased this after seeing Rachael using them on her show! I love this pan! I only use two pans in my kitchen now- this pan and Rachael's Oval Dutch Oven. These pan heat evenly even though they are not the size of the burner, and heat quickly on a medium setting. The great part of the pan is the silicon on the handles it keeps the handles cools. The helper handles also make it very easy to handle when I have prepared something heavy. This pan wears very well too, I have caught my partner using a metal fork or spoon in the pan numerous times and it shows no sign of scratching or flaking. These pan clean up quickly and easily every time!

Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers
Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings.
Choosing Appliance -> Spatulas
Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Silicon is an amazing substance which is heat resistant up to 550 degrees.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Heat
Rather than cause accidental heat-damage, prevent such damage in the first place:
  • Always use a heat protection pad or trivet (with rubber feet) for hot cookware, or leave cookware to cool on the hob first. Never put hot pans, particularly cast iron. Such heat can damage any surface!
  • If you must put a hot pan on the base of a sink use a protective sink mat, sponge, or cloth beneath. It is best to leave the utensil to cool slightly first, or put a few inches of cool water in the sink before the pan.
  • Avoid pouring boiling liquids directly into sinks without turning on the cold tap as well.
