Customer Rating:  Summary: coffee lover Comment: This is a great, easy to use and easy to clean single cup coffee machine. No coffee grounds in a filter to measure then clean out and no carafe to wash or break then replace. I am truly enjoying it every morning. Customer Rating: Summary: ONECE YOU GO SENSEO, YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK Comment: I bought the senseo for my wife as she would brew a pot of coffee, drink a cup or two, and then throw out the rest. I figured the senseo would pay for itself quickly because we would use less coffee. BOY WAS I WRONG! This thing makes coffee that tastes so good we drink it all the time. We love our senseo coffee maker and the coffee it makes. Some people complain that it makes small cups of coffee. I like it better that way because it's so easy to mix and match coffee flavors there is a never ending variety. Plus it literally only takes a few seconds to brew another cup. They advertise "under a minute" but it's more like 10 seconds! My wife loves a lot of creamer in her coffee and we always keep a bunch of the cappuccino variety on hand for when she runs out of creamer. I will never own a "regular" coffee maker again. There is a product you can buy for the senseo called the "coffee duck" that allows you to use regular coffee grounds with the senseo if you are too cheap to continue buying the pods. I will always buy the pods but the coffee duck makes the coffee selections for the senseo truly unlimited. Admittedly, I bought mine on eBay for about $65 with free shipping so it wasn't that expensive. I can't rave about this device enough. For the first time in my life I buy DECAF! Because the coffee this thing makes tastes so good I drink coffee all day long and like to switch to decaf after noon. Quit going to starbucks, quit slumming it, dump your "drip" style old-school coffee maker and get one of these. You'll be happy you did. Unless you become a coffee junkie like I did you will save money with one of these because you literally drink every drop that is brewed. There is no waste. It's probably better for the environment that way. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Purchase! Comment: We love the quick and easy use of this coffeemaker. Having experienced the coffee at my daughters home I knew it was my next new purchase and use it daily now. Customer Rating:  Summary: Glad we made the purchase Comment: Our coffee maker gave out, so it was time to buy a new one. My husband and I only drink a cup or two a day, but he drinks the good stuff and I drink decaff, due to headache issues. This was making the morning coffee take forever! We decided on the Senseo and are glad we did. It only takes seconds to make a delicious cup of coffee. My only complaints are the amount you get is very small, so you use a lot of pods and the choices for decaff flavors are non existent. Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful Machine.... Comment: I'm NOT a coffee snob, barely drinking a cup a week, but my significant other needs a strong mugful every morning. The pods and the Senseo machine are perfect for this. Barely takes two minutes to brew in the morning and its so simple to add water and pop the pods in. The variable pod holders (1-pod, 2-pods, and even an Espresso version) and brew settings allow you to make the coffee as strong as you like. No pots full of coffee sitting for hours only to go to waste, just make as much as you need a cup or two at a time. Cleaning is simple and easy and the machine is fairly compact for use and storage on a counter. Only had it a few months, so I can't speak on reliability, but its simplicity lends me to expect a long use life. Better yet: the 6-pack box of coffee pods sold by Amazon (e.g., Dark Roast, French Vanilla, Hazelnut) comes out to about 30cents a cup even with the added latte flavor packets (60cents when two pods are used for a strong mug serving). I'm hoping the money saved by avoiding Starbucks every morning will go to my potato chip addiction.... In sum, easy to use, clean and economical. Again, my DISCLAIMER is that I'm not a coffee snob so I personally cannot discern the difference between the coffee made by this versus your Starbucks/Peet's etc. But my guests have had no complaints so far and rather enjoy the cool factor. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Baking sheete Not too much romance here, but essential for any functional kitchen. Buy the heaviest pans possible. Kitchen tips -> Two-crust pie When making a two-crust pie, moisten the edge of the bottom crust with water before placing the second crust on top. The moistened edge will help create a good seal once the two crusts are crimped together |
