Customer Reviews of Soup Socks
Customer Rating: Summary: Homemade Chicken soup-- Made (way!) easier! Comment: My mother-in-law gave me her old 1950's Betty Crocker cook book-- and it has the best chicken soup recipe in it. I love making it but I hate the mess at the end-- all that straining to get the chicken piece parts, spices, and veggies out of the broth. I found this product at a local grocery store and decided to try it to see how it would work.... It is amazing!! It's just a net (cotton?) bag that you put all of the ingredients in and then tie off at the top. Put it in the pot and cook... when the soup is done, you pop out the sack of chicken and veggies and there's only minimal junk at the bottom of the pan. The broth pours off the top perfectly clear. In addition, it's way easier to get the meat off the chicken because the bag preserves the shape of the chicken! If you love making chicken soup, you'll make your life a lot easier with this great product. My local grocery store stopped carrying them and I was delighted to find them at Amazon!! More Reviews Prepare clear flavourful soup stocks by placing meats, bones, vegetables, herbs, and spices in this fine mesh bag. When the stock has cooked, remove the soup sock and clear stock remains. Pack of 3 bags. For boiling and steaming only; not for use in oven or in pan. Keep away from flame. Choosing Appliance -> Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers A large number of freezers have eliminated defrosting by continually circulating the air inside the freezer compartment, thus avoiding frost build-up -- a feature well worth paying a little extra for. Soup Socks Useful info -> Dishwashers A concealed heating element reduces the risk of lightweight plastic items such as children's drinking cups melting onto it after becoming dislodged mid-cycle. Limescale build-up is also prevented. Some manufacturers now produce models with the concealed heating element coiled around the water inlet pipe for further energy efficiency. |
