Customer Reviews of Anolon Advanced 4-1/2-Quart Tapered Saucepot
Customer Rating: Summary: Analon Tapered Saucepot - 4.5 qt Comment: Just finally got around to using this pan. It's perfect for our small family when I don't want to use my dutch oven - plus it's non-stick. It performed just great and worked fine on our flat-top range. I waited until it returned to Amazon with free shipping for a good price. It is as described - tapered - but perfectly sized for one of my burners. Customer Rating: Summary: nicely constructed Comment: I purchased this pan to replace a freebie farberware "professional" nonstick 4 quart saucepot. The design of this pot is quite nice - the handles stay cool on the stove and the nonstick surface makes this pot a pleasure to cook with and to clean. The tapered edges are in vogue these days, though I still prefer a pot with straight sides. In comparison to Calphalon pots I own, this is somewhat lighter weight and does not have a commercial feel. This pan, like many anodized pans, requires handwashing. Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect soup pot! Comment: Great pot - easy to clean and big enough to make a good sized pot of soup without everything bubbling over the stove. I bought this to add to my basic pieces and the love, love, love this cookware. This pot is surprisingly light weight also so it's easy to handle. The price was great too, sometimes cookware can be so expensive. I chose this over the regular 3 quart saucepan because of size and price. I use it several times a week. I'm very pleased with this purchase. Customer Rating: Summary: The Perfect Pot Comment: This is an awesome pot -- perfect for everything from everyday use to holiday candy making. I had to replace my 30+ year-old heavy "caramel pot" this year, and was pleasantly surprised by this pot -- wish I'd replaced the old one earlier! The heat distribution is very even, and clean-up an absolute breeze, thanks to the coating. I was so excited to see all of the sticky caramel pour right out of the pan, with no rubber-scraper coaxing, and with next-to-nothing left to wash out! Woohoo! Since then, I've allowed the pan to be used for other things too, and haven't found anything to complain about. It's also a great size -- not too big, but not too small, either (and I cook for a family of six). Love it! Customer Rating: Summary: Analon Advanced Comment: I began replacing my Calphalon commercial non-stick pots and pans when they discontinued the line. The "new" Calphalon One basically sucks. Some my Calphalon was at least ten years old and from my experience as a professional chef ALL non-stick wears out over time no matter how carefully it is treated. Alanalon Advanced is a superior product with the added advantage of non-stick exterior which cleans easily without any "special" anodized aluminum cleaners. I would suggest that if you are intrested in these products keep watching on-line because when they introduce a new pot or pan the introductory price is fabulous. Then the price basically triples. I will continue to replace my cookware with Analon Advanced, not Analon Titanium whic is not as heavy/even heating and does not have in insulated handles which are a great convenience. More Reviews Shouldn't you be able to relax and enjoy your food after you spent all that time cooking it? Why waste your effort cleaning all those pots and pans, when Anolon has created cookware that essentially gets rid of cleanup time? Anolon Advanced is nonstick, hard-anodized cookware featuring Anolon SureGripT handles and the most advanced nonstick surface, both inside and out. The SureGripT handles on this saucepot are made of a combination of 18/10 stainless steel and silicone rubber. The innovative, durable, and ergonomic design provides a soft, cool to the touch, confident grip. They are riveted to the pan for maximum durability. The side handles also feature a convenient loop for hanging. The extra-thick, heavy gauge, hard-anodized aluminum construction is twice as strong as steel, providing incredible durability and offering fast and even heat distribution for perfect cooking performance. This saucepot also has a clear, tempered glass, dome-shaped lid with an Anolon SureGripT handle. The lid is break resistant and the clear design allows for constant monitoring of food without having to lift the lid and letting heat, flavors and nutrients to escape. The Dupont Autograph 2 Nonstick Surface is an exclusive multiple reinforced nonstick technology that is designed to outlast traditional nonstick coatings, and since it is on the inside and outside, this saucepot is even easier to clean, giving you more time to cook. Clear, tempered glass, dome-shaped lid with Anolon SureGripT handle Oven-safe to 400 degrees Farenheit Choosing Appliance -> Cooking Pans This is another area where spending money is justified. The best pans combine different metals like aluminum or copper on the outside and stainless steel on the inside. Aluminum and copper are valued for their ability to spread heat evenly over the entire pan, and stainless steel is valued for its non-reactive qualities. Buy pans which are heavy and thick with solid handles that are well fastened to the pot. As with knives, buy the highest quality cooking pans you can afford one at a time, starting with a saute pan and a 3 qt. sauce pan. They will last forever. At some point, a stock pot (which will be especially pricey) should be considered for serious cooking. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Anolon Advanced 4-1/2-Quart Tapered Saucepot Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks. |
