Customer Reviews of Metro 3-Piece Saucepan Set #1302
Customer Rating: Summary: nice pans, poor packaging. Comment: The pans works fine, but someone put made in china stickers on the bottom of the pans and they don't come off very easily. Does someone not know what these pans are used for? Customer Rating: Summary: low price and low quality Comment: You cant do much more with these than boil an egg or some rice, the material will start to scrape off with a wooden spoon after the third use. Nice for temporary use, but you will probably need to get something with more quality eventually. Customer Rating: Summary: metro pans Comment: These pots are ok. They are worth what I paid for them. Not a dime more. I would guess they will last a year. Customer Rating: Summary: Does the job Comment: It's really hard to find a 1 1/2 quart saucepan without buying a large, expensive set, so for my needs, this three-piece set works. This is the second time in about a year I've had to purchase the same set because the first set rusted and wore out rather quickly with a lot of use. If you're not a gourmet chef and just need something to get you by, this is the set for you. Customer Rating: Summary: super for the price Comment: I purchased on Feb. 7th 2007. I don't know how long they will last but so far so good. I use these pans quite a bit on a weekly basis at least. They have held up super so far. They feel lightweight as if they are cheap. No surprise there. I did two non-stick treatments before using them and the nonstick has not begun too peel or come off yet. The handles are screwed in so if they come lose I can just screw it back in. I am very impressed with these pans for the price. More Reviews * Non-stick carbon steel, phenolic handles, stainless steel rims and flame guards * Includes 1-1/2", 2", and 2-3/4" sauce pans Choosing Appliance -> Spoons Buy stainless spoons (both slotted and non-slotted) which are solid and won't bend no matter how tough the job. Also, buy several high quality wooden spoons for stirring delicate dishes like risotto (the sharp edge of a metal spoon would cut or bruise the rice). Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm. Metro 3-Piece Saucepan Set #1302 Kitchen tips -> Slicing When you want to slice foods, such as: onions, celery stalks, potatoes, carrots, etc., hold the items together with one hand and pivot the knife at it's tip and hold the blade at a 95' towards the hand holding the items, always keeping the tip of the knife in contact with the cutting surface |
