Customer Reviews of Factory-Reconditioned Dyson DC15 The Ball All Floors Vacuum
Customer Rating: Summary: almost perfect Comment: The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5, and say "almost" perfect is that it is too big to fit under furniture that you would be able to do with a canister vacuum. You have to buy the other attachment, which really should be part of the package for a vacuum of this price. Otherwise, it is a well thought, well designed vacuum and it really sucked up everything that my other vacuum left behind. I could not believe how much the vacuum picked up after using it the first time. I have an Airedale and a short hair cat, and kids and their friends that are in and out of the house all the time, so I needed a good vacuum. I would purchase this again, just wish they will include the under furniture attachment in the package. Customer Rating: Summary: Married an Engineer Comment: I told my husband from the get-go if this refurb didn't work the first week it was going back. Somethings are just lemons. It's been a few weeks, and it still works like new. Overall, it's lighter and quieter than our previous bagless vacuum. It's hard to quantify how much more this vacuum picks up than our last. Maybe a little more. The best feature is how easily it comes apart. My husband likes to take things apart and clean them properly. For example, the rotating brushes. The Dyson makes it easy. The only drawback to this model is the suction wand is cumbersome. Customer Rating: Summary: andy man 9 Comment: It is one of best vacuums that I have ever used, I have had hover & sears and bissel vacuums, I vacuumed my carpets twice with my bissel then went over than with the dyson and still got dog hair & dust. I recommend it to every one I know. I am getting each one of my kids one christmas Customer Rating: Summary: 've owned better than any vacuum I've owned Comment: I recently purchased this vacuum to replace a dirt devil and it is ten times better than that one. If you can find one that is below 300$ I recommend buying it. Customer Rating: Summary: English Paper Comment: I had read so many positive things about Dyson vacuums and debated so long about purchasing one, I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. The Dyson DC15 Ball VAC is a full size upright vacuum. With an array of features and cleaning attachments, it is designed to be a mainstay of cleaning in your home. The DC15 with its flashy yellow and silver colors steadfastly baked in, along with a futuristic appearance screams, "Here I am." Indeed, with lightweight polycarbonate plastics, revolutionary ball design, Root Cyclone technology, does make a statement. (Dyson) The DC15 is designed to be simple to use effectively. This is where the vacuum excels. With a 37 foot power cord you find yourself plugging in much less. The telescoping cleaning rod is built right in to the handle. You just pull it up and out of the handle then push the release button to use this 12 foot extension. This is a great feature I use all the time. I actually look on the walls, lights and fans for a reason to use it. All attachments are handily clipped, within easy reach, in to preformed areas atop the canister. When you use it on bare floors, you have the option to turn of the brush. This is also great for not shooting debris all over the house, when you are trying to vacuum them up. The brush uses a direct drive not a belt, so when you have the vacuum in an upright position the brush is not engaged and not spinning. A nice feature so you don't trash your carpet or floor when you are stationary using attachments, I would think this would help in the life of the brush also. The motor is placed inside the ball of the unit, shifting the center of gravity, allowing for a low profile, for greater reach under furniture. Clear dirt containment compartments and HEPA filters have become standard equipment in today's modern vacuums but not many are so cleverly designed. The Dyson uses a simple quick release button placed on the handle to release the bottom of the dirt bin right in to the trash, to minimize contact with dirt. It even comes apart further for periodic easy cleaning of the inside. "Dyson vacuums work differently." (Dyson) Root Cyclone technology spins the air in the vacuum at high speeds keeping dirt in the bin from interfering with suction. The ball design makes it easy to maneuver around objects on the floor. So easy, my seven year old begs to vacuum. It's built in washable HEPA filter is certified asthma & allergy friendly, (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America) helps defray the cost of ownership. The cleaning power of the Dyson DC15 is where it really shines. I can tell you I have owned many vacuums form a [...] unit, to my deluxe Dirt Devil Vision. Trust me when I say, you have no idea how dirty your carpet is until you use this vacuum. I performed the test most of us have seen. I vacuumed my large area rug in my living room with my old Hoover. I looked pretty good, so I fired up the DC15 and started vacuuming. It was unbelievable. I could see the carpet getting cleaner. I was so mystified; I brought in the rest of the family to verify what I was seeing. We all concurred, the carpet looked brighter. Here is a link to a photo I took at that point. I was so impressed I posted this at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B000J2O4BK/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0 So what are the cons? Some may say price, but in comparison of the high end units from; Kirby, Oreck and even Hoover that is a non issue. If you want a cheap vacuum, go to Wal-Mart. It is mostly plastic, but so are many others. The Dyson does not try to hide that, in fact they highlight the materials used and their durability. Some people talk about weight. (Amazon) At nearly twenty pounds, it has heft, but because of maneuverability you hardly notice. I noticed the design has relatively complex movements, at least as vacuums go, so I don't know about long term durability. The high quality hose sometimes makes it a little hard to handle when it is fully extended. The foot release takes some practice to use and is even harder when bare footed, but once you realize, it is more of a down and back motion you become more proficient. The auto leveling feature is nice but, it does not transition great to a higher pile carpet. That is all I can think of on the negative side. I don't know if this is the best vacuum on the market. Dyson makes pricier models (anything in the Animal line) but, I will say it is designed well. With a powerful motor, precise maneuvering at the flick of your wrist, and immense cleaning power, the Dyson DC15 is a great cleaning machine. The style may be a little much for some, but for me, I want a machine the looks ready to do the job. "Though it's expensive, many happy owners say the Dyson DC15 is worth the premium." ([...]). It's worth noting, good deals can be found online at many retailers, including options for factory refurbished units found at www.amazon.com. I bought mine there for [...], including shipping. Mine was shipped to me perfect, looking and working like a brand new unit. At that price, even [...]; I feel it is well worth the money. More Reviews [Note: This item has been refurbished by the original manufacturer. Please see Product Features for more details.] Tackle soiled carpets and dusty hardwood floors with equal efficiency with this upright vacuum from the United Kingdom- based Dyson. The All Floors vacuum lives up to its name, catering to stairs, delicate rugs, linoleum, and shag carpeting. From Dyson’s innovative The Ball line, the vacuum actually rolls on a ball, twisting and turning 360 degrees. Dyson mounted the 10-amp motor within the ball for a low center of gravity and installed a pivoting 13-inch cleaner head to further enhance the vacuum’s superior mobility. Crafted in ABS and polycarbonate materials, the vacuum fits under coffee tables and beds with a low profile head. The motorized brush bar benefits from a direct drive to aggressively dislodge embedded debris. For hard floors or delicate carpets, prevent scratching with the push-button brush bar shutdown. The vacuum’s Root-8 Cyclone technology powerfully sucks dirt through the spacious debris channel, depositing it in the transparent .71-gallon dustbin. The bin empties at the push of a button, requiring virtually no physical contact with its contents. The permanent, washable HEPA air filter ensures that collected allergens stay contained inside the vacuum while the vacuum releases air with 150 times less bacteria and mold. A built-in telescopic hose system allows the user to tend to stairs and curtains. Provided airflow nozzles assist in retrieving dust from crevices. The vacuum’s power cord spans 37 feet, with a 51-foot maximum vacuum reach. A 90-day manufacturer’s warranty covers this item. Made in Malaysia, the vacuum measures 13-2/3 by 11-2/5 by 44-1/10 inches and weighs approximately 20 pounds. Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply. Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Factory-Reconditioned Dyson DC15 The Ball All Floors Vacuum Kitchen tips -> Eggs
