Customer Reviews of Best Manufacturers Waffle Head Potato Masher
Customer Rating: Summary: Potato smashing 101 Comment: Believe it or not I could not find this type of conventional masher anywhere in my community so I was glad to see I could get it through Amazon. My only complain is the flimsly feel of it but hey, it gets the job done and probably will last me a long time. Customer Rating: Summary: great Comment: Great masher. I've bought some cheap, cheesy mashers before, This one is worth the price. Customer Rating: Summary: Change to an older style Comment: I have always had a different style of potato masher, so this is a change for me. It is a better design, to be recommended for both potato mashing and for banana mashing as part of frequent loaves of banana bread. Customer Rating: Summary: Love it Comment: I just received this potato masher in the mail a few days ago and used it today for the first time. I don't like the wire mashers and the electric mixer overworks the potatoes and doesn't make them taste right. This one is just like the one my mom had when I was growing up and now I remember why her potatoes were so good. It is easy to use and gets the job done without overwhipping the potatoes. I love it! More Reviews Have you ever wondered why your mashed potatoes taste like glue rather than the light, fluffy spud dish that they should be? It's because you're overworking the starch. Let's face it, electric mixers only make wallpaper paste out of potatoes and wire shaped hand mashers can still over work the starch. The beauty of the waffle headed masher is that it actually rices that potato through the head making fluffy, yet slightly chunky smashed potatoes - just like they should be. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Keen cooks may want to take advantage of multi-function ovens - usually aimed at the top end of the market. As well as traditional cooking, fan or fan-assisted cooking and grilling, these ovens offer up to nine further functions. These include: Top element only (browning), bottom element (final cooking of pastry dishes or pizzas), fan and bottom element (delicate cooking), fan only (thawing).
