Summary: Great gift
Comment: I got these for Christmas last year and absolutely love them. They're comfortable, durable, and are excellent for cooking just about anything. DO NOT, however, use them in the dishwasher or use metal utensils with them, lest you scratch or otherwise mar them. (Of course this is a general rule you should follow with any quality item of cookware.) I found this site looking to see if they're oven-safe (I'm making yummy frittatas this morning), so we'll see if they are or not...

Comment: I ordered this for my parents as a Christmas gift solely because it said it was both nonstick and dishwasher safe. I just found out from them that the instructions that came with the cookware say DO NOT WASH in dishwasher because it will ruin anodized coating. These are not as advertised.

Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Silicon is an amazing substance which is heat resistant up to 550 degrees.

The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. You can also maximize the efficiency of appliances you already own through regular maintenance and tune-ups and system upgrades. Examples of some things that you can do are:

Check air filters in heating and cooling systems monthly during the seasons they are in use and clean and replace them as necessary.
Clean air vents, baseboards, and radiators regularly and keep them unrestricted by furniture, carpets, or drapes.
Release trapped air from hot water radiators once or twice a season by opening the valve until nothing but water comes out.
Follow prescribed maintenance (e.g., maintaining certain water levels in steam heat systems).
