Customer Rating:   Summary: Handles Broke Off Comment: I have had this crock pot for two years and have been very satisfied..... until last night. We were taking the mashed potatoes to the Thanksgiving dinner with family friends. My husband was carrying the crock pot full of potatoes to the car. He got as far as the front porch when suddenly BOTH handles snapped off sending the entire crock pot and all the potatoes to the concrete front porch. In the process, my husbands hands were cut and the entire mess sat splattered on the porch. I would have never guessed that the handles would have given way like that!!! I would expect a crock pot to hold the volume of its' size at least. Do not buy it......or if you already own it.........please place the entire appliance in a box if you need to carry it from your home. I have made a report to Euro-Pro as this is a safety hazard and design flaw. Customer Rating: Summary: Burns Food Comment: This cooker cooks all my slow cooker recipes from various cookbooks at least two hours too fast. The low setting is like high on other cookers. When contacted, the company makes no apologies for this and in fact seems proud that their SLOW cooker cooks so FAST. They point you to the cooking times chart in the operator's manual and say you are informed. Without automatic controls, this cooker is useless to working folks who will be away from home for eight hours. Customer Rating: Summary: Okay deal Comment: Main complaint: runs exceptionally hot. More than once I've followed the cooking time in a slow cooker recipe and had it turn out extra-crispy around the edges. On the plus side, it has a keep warm setting, so you could probably use that instead of low and low instead of high and have things turn out right; or just scale back the cooking time as I usually do. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
