Customer Rating:  Summary: BEST CAN OPENER you will EVER HAVE, good for arthritic hands also. Comment: This is the "BEST" can opener you will ever have!!! First off, I really checked it out, reviews, what it was made of, everything and it is fantastic!! I told my daughter THIS is the one I want for Christmas and she got it for me. It works great even on the large cans of sweet potatoes I had to open, it had no problem, and the liquid didn't leak out of the can either. The handle actually is chrome-metal, not some plastic piece that will break. you just slip the can up to it and press the handle down to the top, with very little effort, and it starts cutting. Hardly any noise either, it's really quiet. I have arthritis really bad in my hands and this is the easiest can opener I have ever used. I didn't even have to hold the can from the bottom!! When it finishes cutting, from the side, it also doesn't "pop" and sling liquid all over the place, it just stops!! I love the sleek design with the black and chrome, really looks nice when I do have it out on the counter-top, but I do store it, as with other appliances, when I'm not using them. I try to keep my counter-tops cleared off, but it's great looking when it's there!!! You can't go wrong with this one!! It's WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!! I used this can opener to open 320 cans of sweetened condensed milk in 7 days this past November. It never missed a beat! I love that there is no blade to touch the food, and no metal shavings to get in the food. This is by far the best can opener we have ever owned. The positives are: 1)Cuts the can below the lid lip without leaving a sharp edge. 2) It has Cord Storage!...yea! The big negative is that, even though it says "locked" when you press down the handle to open a can, you have to hold down the handle until it's done to open a can...boo! All in all though, it's still the best can opener I have ever owned. If you can deal with the negative, it's worth getting. Kitchen tips -> Cut raw meat When trying to cut thin slices or strips of raw meat, it is easier if you put the meat into the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour before cutting to help firm up the meat, or if the meat was frozen, slice it before it is completely thawed |
