Customer Rating:   Summary: Space Saving Comment: I got this slow cooker to save space. It is still big, but I now have the versatility of 3 sizes in one space. It also looks attractive on the counter. So far, I have used the smallest and the largest pots and the cooking has been even throughout. Customer Rating: Summary: Great slow cooker. Comment: I recently used this slow cooker for the first time to make ribs. After cooking on low for 10 hours, the ribs were falling off the bone tender and delicious. Clean up was very easy - just a matter of washing the bowl. I'm very happy with this purchase. Having 3 different bowl sizes is extremely convenient. The bowls themselves are good quality (ceramic I think) and useful even when not using the slow cooker - I have used them as mixing bowls. The heating portion of the slow cooker is very light weight & the bowls are not too heavy. I have only used the slow cooker once so far, but I am very happy with this purchase. I've been able to use the four quart for my family and the six quart for holiday parties. The ceramic bowls on their own are great. My only issue is that low seems to run a little bit hotter than normal so I use warm more than usual. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out. Choosing Appliance -> Spatulas Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
