Customer Reviews of All-Clad Stainless 13-Inch French Skillet

Summary: Uneven bottom
Comment: I ordered both a 9 and 11 inch nonstick skillet. They both suffered uneven bottoms. Middle was 1/8 inch higher than bottom edges. I did not even use the pans. None of my older all clad pans had any such problems. I called all clad and they would accept them back, but I would have to pay shipping. So, I returned both of them to Amazon as defective. I hope you do not get either of my returns!

Summary: Great Pan
Comment: Was hesitant to purchase this pan due to reading some of the less favorite reviews. However, I sure am glad that I bought it. It lives up to the All Clad standard of quality. Great pan!

Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Ideal all-in-one pan for those with limited space (or budget!)
Comment: I've been absolutely thrilled with the french skillet since it came in a couple weeks ago. I love to cook, but I'm limited on both space in my small apartment with even smaller kitchen, and limited budget. This pan serves double duty for a skillet (aka fry pan), which is designed with very low sides to allow easy access and a wide surface area, and a saute pan which alternatively has vertical sides to hold liquid inside. The french skillet sides are half-way between -- tall, but with a bit of flare to allow access -- and I now use it regularly for both purposes. In fact, I'd say its preferable to a skillet in all cases that I use it for; the taller sides (and 45 degree handle, which I really like) make pan-flipping a snap.

Finally, it goes without saying that the construction of the pan itself is top-notch, as one would expect from All-Clad. It looks beautiful (hey, that's important too!) and I've found that the 3-ply stainless conducts heat wonderfully -- its worth noting, however, that the gauge of the steel is not as thick as other products in this line, such as their saucepans, and nowhere near as thick as some of their other lines (such as LTD).

Summary: All Clad 13" fry pan
Comment: Bought this for my wife. She loves it. Nothing sticks. The handle sticks up a little too high, but it is definitely worth the inconvenience.

Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators
The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit.
Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher?
If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven
Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil.
