Customer Reviews of Staub 2.5 Quart Round Cocotte, Grenadine
Customer Rating: Summary: great looks and functionality Comment: Do you gaze longingly at your pot while it happily does it's thing? You will if you get this one. It is like a little jewel on my stove. I got it for significantly cheaper from Will..Son.. (surprisingly) than the $150 listed here. The enamel seems much nicer than Le Creuset and I like the solid lid with basting spikes. I thought initially the rim around the top of the lid was just a cosmetic reminder of the way charcoal is held on the top of a classic dutch oven. I heard however it could be used to put ice water to encourage condensation. I also like the black enamel interior better since it seems easier to clean (perhaps by appearance). The lid knob is nice but a little small for the weight of the thing...you can use it to lift straight up but if you try to turn it sideways it will feel like it's cutting into your fingers. More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers By law manufacturers must disclose the energy efficiency of their appliances, rated A to G. These are usually displayed prominently in showrooms. The better the rating, the more energy efficient the appliance is - good for both the environment and your pocket. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. To make the food processor easiest to use, leave it on the counter top instead of storing it in a cabinet. Staub 2.5 Quart Round Cocotte, Grenadine Useful info -> Energy-Efficient Appliances When you're shopping for appliances, you can think of two price tags. The first one covers the purchase price - think of it as a down payment. The second price tag is the cost of operating the appliance during its lifetime. You'll be paying on that second price tag every month with your utility bill for the next 10 to 20 years, depending on the appliance. Refrigerators last an average of 20 years; room air conditioners and dishwashers, about 10 years each; clothes washers, about 14 years. |
