Comment: I bought these Hershey's fondue sets to give to my son's teachers, teaching assistants, bus driver and aids for holiday gifts, and I'm so glad I did. They are absolutely adorable! I just can't help but go "Awww!" every time I look at them. Before receiving them, my one concern was that I didn't know if they came with fondue forks. Glad to find out they do, and the forks say "Hershey's Kisses" on the side of their plastic handles. They also come with a tea-light candle, an instruction booklet and a couple of recipes. The only thing missing is the chocolate and the fruit or cake to dip in it, but that's okay: I bought and plan to give each person about half a pound of Hershey's Kisses to go with it. Some basic information about these fondue sets: * The pot and cover are ceramic, and they have a 2/3 quart capacity. At first I thought this was small, but then I realized how much chocolate I have to put into our regular fondue pot to make it deep enough to dip anything in. This size is probably perfect. Ceramic means it's breakable, but it also means the chocolate is heated gently, so less chance of it getting burned, a problem I've run into with my metal fondue pot. * The pot and lid won't fit in a dishwasher and need to be washed by hand. The forks are diswasher safe. * The pot and cover are separate from the stand, and they make the most adorable candy dish. I bought these sets in red and gold. They really make the sweetest presents, and I can't wait to give to all the people who work my son. I know they're going to love them! EDIT: I had ordered eight of these, four gold and four red, and when I posted this review I had only opened the box with six fondue sets in it. The other box, however, had a bit of a problem: the individual boxes weren't taped shut, so they opened during transit and lids and pots knocked into each other. There wasn't a lot of damage. One of the pots got a tiny nick in the gold paint. But Amazon really should seal the individual boxes before shipping so this doesn't happen. Customer Rating:  Summary: Works okay, poor craftsmanship Comment: I purchased this item and it is cute. I washed it before use by hand and it came out fine. We melted the chocolate, per instructions, and put it in the dish. It kept the chocolate warm and melted. It worked very well. (for those who said it doesn't melt chocolate, it says right in the directions to melt it first) After using it, I washed it up and noticed the paint is starting to come off the outside already. The wording on the fondue forks rubbed off as well. I'm sure it will still be cute when the red paint comes totally off, but for now, I have a chipped red hershey kiss... No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks. |
