Customer Rating:   Summary: Bodum Assam Double-Wall Beer Glasses Review Comment: My husband is a beer drinker and this is by far his preferred glass. Our only problem is that they're a bit fragile, but they're well-worth the special handling. We do put them in the dishwasher. Customer Rating: Summary: These glasses are AWESOME!! Comment: I had gotten these for my bf for Christmas but I was so excited about them I couldn't wait another month to show these to him. The glasses are simply fantastic. Bf marveled at how light they are, and they look so beautiful holding your beverage. No condensation forms and they keep your drink cold for SO long. I usually sip my soft drinks and by the time I'm done they're room temp or very diluted from ice cubes. But with these, my drinks were cold to the last drop! I've been hand washing them gently and drying them in a rack, because I'm afraid of them clanking with other things in the dish washer. We use these glasses all the time and I'm SO glad I gave them to him now so he can enjoy them over the holidays! Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing Morning Coffee Comment: Luxury and delicious. Every morning a perfect and hot latte in a glass that feels and looks beautiful. I heat the milk in the microwave and pour the espresso over all. I have been doing so for many months now--with one loss as someone tried leaving one on the porch for a day or so. Otherwise, a little care and no worries. It is well worth the effort! Pretty much all I can say is that these are fantastic. They keep my beer cold for a much longer period of time than a regular glass and not to mention they look pretty cool too. I've had family and friends over and they've all gotten a kick out of the glasses and a few of them have bought a set for themselves. As for the fragility of the glasses. I have 6 of them and I haven't had one of them crack or leak or anything. After reading all of the reviews on them I've been very careful with them but I do put them in the dishwasher and they've all come out fine every time. Looking at the make of the glass I can see where it might be more fragile than other glasses but I haven't had a problem. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. Useful info -> Is the top or bottom element going to perform the self-cleaning cycle? Some ovens only use the top element and others only use the bottom one. Better designed ovens use the bottom element. The reason for this is that most grease spills and splatters (soil) will accumulate on the sides and the floor of the cavity - not on the ceiling (where the broiler is located) and therefore, the element that is the closest to these soiled areas should be the one to work the strongest in order to bake off the soil. |
