Customer Reviews of Melitta ABC10B 10-Cup Aroma Brew Coffeemaker, Black
Customer Rating: Summary: Hasn't made a bad pot yet Comment: Like another reviewer, we've had our coffee machine for about a year. We have experienced no mechanical problems. Considering that the machine gets used every day and then sent through the dishwasher, that's saying a lot. It has yet to make a bad pot of coffee. Since the quality of the unit's output is why anyone should buy a coffee machine, this is a great unit. Okay, it makes great coffee, so why not a 5? Well, if you run it through a dishwasher, there's a handle of sorts on one side of the filter housing which always fills up with dishwasher water and gunk. Customer Rating: Summary: good for the price Comment: This is my 4th coffee pot in 8 years. I love the melitta though. Yes it's not fancy, but that's what I like. No expensive features to break. No light bulbs to burn out. No clocks to reset. Only good, hot, delicious coffee. One negative thing is not all the water drains from the filter holder, so make sure to rinse after each pot of coffee is made. That's something I can live with. Customer Rating: Summary: Keeps going Comment: I have had this coffeemaker for almost a year now. That may not seem all that long, but in the days of disposible products I am happy to say it is still going strong. It keeps the coffee warm if not tongue burningly hot. Biggest downside is that the cone is a bit tricky to get in and out. With a bit of practice -- it get's easier. For a simple, inexpensive coffeemaker it is a good value -- especially if you need a black model to match your decor [smile]. Customer Rating: Summary: cheapest made coffeemaker Comment: It makes a decent cup of coffee, but the funnel swings open on weak hinges that break very easily which mine did. In addition there is no "on" light to indicate the machine is on. Would you believe MELITA was too cheap to put a bulb in the on switch and painted it RED to indicate the coffeemaker was ON. Customer Rating: Summary: Good and Basic Comment: I would never use fancy timers, and I already have two digital clocks in the kitchen (microwave, stove) so all I need is an on/off switch, and hot coffee. This has both, and I am so-far pleased with it, especially given the price. My only complaint is that there is no light indicating when the power is on (just the color red when the switch is on). I am afraid without the light I will forget to turn it off. More Reviews Just the basics, in basic high-gloss black, the Salton 10-cup Melitta filter coffeemaker is simplicity itself. There is one switch with two settings: on and off. The 6-by-9-by-12-inch size takes up very little counter space, yet delivers a big cup of coffee. The Melitta cone filter design concentrates the flow of water over the coffee for a fuller flavor and aroma, and for those who just can't wait, the Pause 'n' Serve function lets you steal a cup of coffee midbrew. --Schuyler Ingle Choosing Appliance -> Salad spinner While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens. Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher? If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model.
