Customer Reviews of Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Machine
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Bread machine!! Yeast or No Yeast! Many options!! Comment: I got this bread machine from Walmart.com about 5 years ago. I tried many options and it has so many more! I have successfully used many recipes and different grains with and without yeast. The first few I made were tossed like footballs. I was adjusting a recipe I had been using to make 2 loaves from scratch. But, when I got it right, you could not believe how much it smelled sooo good , even outside! I had to give my neighbors a loaf. I did try the jam cycle and it was delicious but runny. I also used it for pizza dough successfully. But my favorite feature is the quick bread or the delayed timer. Both have been very useful. I highly recommend this machine if you like to make different sizes 1, 1.5, or 2 lb. loaves and use different recipes. Customer Rating: Summary: Breadman Comment: I liked this machine but I wore it out. Making a loaf of bread once a week of a year and it wouldn't mix the bread any more. I guess I just wore it out - I mix my bread by hand now. Customer Rating: Summary: Dead after 20 loaves Comment: What a lot of fun - until it broke. I used it a lot in the first year, put it on the shelf for a year, then took it out tonight. The motor crapped out, and it was out of warranty. I seriously used it like a couple dozen times - a motor shouldn't die in that time. Customer service was apologetic but resolute. All bread makers are easy to use - the two moving parts shouldn't die in that amount of time. Customer Rating: Summary: breadman stainless steel Comment: I had a white, don't know model, for 5 years, and used it 3-5 times a week B4 it finally gave up, but it was a great product! Replaced it 1.5 years ago with stainless steel breadman, 900S?, and from the first the basket pops out of place. I thought I'd fixed it for the past year, but this past week it's been horrible. Also, I can't make bread when it's real humid out, doesn't rise. Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap and good, if you can deal with the hassles Comment: I ordered a 2500BC, which arrived with one side caved in. Saltron had none in stock and didn't know when they would get more. They offered me a 2200C, the same machine with a white finish, and I accepted. After six months of moderate use (2 or 3 two-pound loaves per week) the belt which turns the paddle broke with a loud bang. Saltron sent me a postage-paid return shipping label and replaced the machine with another 2200C. I have used this machine for a year and it is working satisfactorily. Searching online, the consensus I found was that the Breadman Ultimate was a good cheap bread machine, but that you may have to return one or two before you get one that works. That was my experience. The Breadman Ultimate is a 2-pound machine with a long horizontal bread pan and one paddle. A horizontal pan produces a more traditional looking and (to me) better looking loaf: but the machine best known for this, the Zojirushi, has two paddles. So how does the Breadman Ultimate work with one paddle? My experience is that it works very well, with a little help. Operating unattended, about one loaf in four comes out with lumps of raw flour in the corners. When the machine goes into its fast kneed cycle, I open the top, and if dry four is stuck in the corners, I push it into the whirling dough ball with a rubber spatula. All bread machines are recipe-sensitive and this one is no exception. It is especially sensitive to the amount of liquid in your recipe, and that includes solid ingredients like chopped shallots which release liquid while baking. Once I got a working product, refined my recipes by trial and error, and learned how to help the fast kneed cycle, I found this machine baked the best tasting and most attractive loaves of any I have owned. It is also the cheapest bread machine I have owned. I recommend it, but only if you are prepared to return a defective product. I would NOT buy a Breadman Ultimate without a solid one-year warranty. More Reviews Think about how lovely it would be to wake up to the aroma of baking bread, and how equally satisfying it would be to present a warm, soft loaf of yeast or quick bread at the table for any meal. This programmable machine makes it so easy, there's no excuse for not making your own breads. You can put all the ingredients into the machine the night before, or the morning of, and program it to have the bread ready and waiting at the appropriate time. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough.
