Customer Reviews of Berndes SignoCast Classic 7-Quart Stock Pot
Customer Rating: Summary: Have not used it yet, but ... Comment: ... if it really did originally cost $300.00 and I got it for $45.00, well then, I love it already. Customer Rating: Summary: Cast not pressed = Impressive Comment: Because this is a cast item the base is thick, the top is thick but the walls are thin making this pot much lighter than you would expect. NO RIVETS where the handles are so it is smooth and easy to clean on the inside. I am a Calphalon One pan lover but hate the rivets on the inside with food sticking to them and scrubbing around them. I am actually looking into a Berndes pan as it just seems a better interior design. Final note, I know this is just superficial but the design of the nob on the top of the glass lid is mirror like through the lid and it has a really nice look to it. One more cherry on top of an already great design. Stan Customer Rating: Summary: High quality pot Comment: I have this for few weeks now. I really gto a nice deal on it. We made few dishes in it last few weeks. First it was home made meatballs. The pot heats evently, browns very nicely and has plenty of space to last a while. Key to this pot is that it's about 4mm thick. That mean's it has 1/4th the weight of cast iron, but same ability to keep the heat and brown evenly. This pot is excellent not only for the soups, but it an really pull off meatballs, stews, chillis, or anything else one can imagine i rarely give out 5 stars, but this one worth it! Customer Rating: Summary: Buy it Comment: This is a wonderful product - if you have any doubts - forget them - you lwill love it More Reviews No kitchen is complete without a stockpot--a staple among chefs for centuries. Times have changed and so have stockpots. This 7-quart model is made from durable cast aluminum and features three layers of nonstick surface on the interior to allow for fat-free cooking and to protect food from sticking. The break-resistant, ovenproof glass lid (with a heat-resistant knob) lets you keep an eye on your soups or stews as they cook. It also comes with thermogrip cotton table servers, which are like mittens for the handles, to make it easy to move it from the stovetop or oven to the table. To clean, hand wash the pot with warm water using a dishwashing liquid and soft cloth or sponge. It's manufactured by Berndes in Germany and comes with a lifetime warranty. --Linda Dahlstrom Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Keen cooks may want to take advantage of multi-function ovens - usually aimed at the top end of the market. As well as traditional cooking, fan or fan-assisted cooking and grilling, these ovens offer up to nine further functions. These include: Top element only (browning), bottom element (final cooking of pastry dishes or pizzas), fan and bottom element (delicate cooking), fan only (thawing). Choosing Appliance -> Dishwasher Choose a dishwasher with sturdy compression springs in the door. Also look for tough, lightweight nylon or graphite racks with cushioned tips that protect glassware and cookware. Weimer recommends choosing a model with a rack design that provides the largest, most flexible interior space and is configured for your belongings, including odd-shaped pieces. Berndes SignoCast Classic 7-Quart Stock Pot Kitchen tips -> Fresh herbs Fresh herbs added to soup may lose their flavor when cooked for a long period time. Add more herbs shortly before serving to boost the flavor |
